Andrew Hines needs a miracle to make the Countdown. He is currently in twelfth place, more than tow rounds behind Steve Johnson. He is the defending event champion.Matt Smith is second in points and the 2006 winner here. Matt has never beaten Andrew in their five opening round matches and is only seven wins to twenty-one loses in prior races.

Hines' engine dies before he can stage and the crew quickly gets it running again. He gets a small head start, but Smith takes the win, as Hines slows.
