COMMERCE, Ga. - Results of round 1 eliminations in Federal-Mogul Dragster at the 18th Annual Fram Nationals:

3:40 PM, and the rain is still staying north of us, knock on wood. We start the round with a great battle, just 0.019 secs or barely 6 feet separating them at the finish.

The Thunderslug gets a tenth in the bank at the start, and Roberts never really had a chance.

Cantrell needed to pick up a couple tenths to have a shot here, and it didn't happen.

Beecham didn't appear to leave that much ahead of Reichert, I'm betting that he rolled the lights when he brought the revs up.

Both these guys making energy conserving burnouts, very little smoke the result. And Gladstone is very late, then gets tired of watching Russell so far ahead of him downtrack.

Fiorelli wanted a holeshot, but this isn't what he had in mind. Meanwhile the fuel dragster sounded like it was running on about three cylinders, but still manages to make it to the finish. That's all for round one.
