GREAT BEND, Kan. -- With a sweep of the first two events in the series debut Kansas native JR Lobner is off to a great start in his bid for the Southern Circuit Championship and the overall series championship. Lobner set the tone early with a perfect .000 reaction time in the first round of eliminations against Brad Basgall in Saturdays race. After two close races against Steve Beeny and Matt Driskell in which both margins of victory were just .004, Lobner found himself in the final round against Doorcar winner Greg Kothe. Kothe's -.009 red-light in the final would give Lobner the win. Early round wins on Sunday against Jared Slagle and Mike Morlen setup a matchup with sister Jeryka. Though Jeryka got the better of JR off the line (the only one to do so all weekend) JR got the win light at the finishline. A close race win against David Harrington in the Dragster final decided by only .005 would send Lobner to Sundays final runoff against Tom Donovan, who had been cutting great reaction times of his own on his side of the ladder. In the final Tom was too quick leaving with a -.003 redlight giving the win to Lobner.
