MOHNTON, Pa. -- At the end of next weekend, two racers will both be leaving Maple Grove Raceway $10,000 richer.
The Spring Pro Eliminator Footbrake Nationals will be run on Saturday and Sunday, April 20-21, as two drivers will get a chance to come out of tax season with plenty of extra cash.
The $10,000 first prize for each race is guaranteed.
A sister event to the annual Footbrake Nationals that are run in October, the race features door cars that run the quarter-mile between 9.00 and slower.
Racers can arrive on Friday between 4 and 8 p.m. to park in the pits and go through tech.
Gates open on Saturday and Sunday at 8 a.m. with a single time trial at 9 a.m. followed immediately by eliminations. A single round of buybacks will be available after the first round each day for $60.
Drivers can enter the race for $130 each day. Crewmembers and spectators are $15 for adults. Children 12-and-under are free with a paid adult.
Maple Grove Raceway's 51st season includes events at the track every weekend between April and November. The 29th annual Auto-Plus NHRA Nationals will be held Oct. 3-6.
