Right Lane: Jason Scruggs Runs 3.620/211.76, Now #2; Best prior run: 3.754/202.30, Was #6
2:41 p.m. The two Al Anabi cars were planning to run side-by-side for this session, but Von Smith's car would not fire and Scruggs made a single run. It was a nice one, the second-best run of the day. That put Scruggs in second place and moved Smith down toi third.
Jason Scruggs' incremental times: 60ft-0.922 sec., 330ft-2.447.
Smith's car was pushed back so the crew could work on it - since he did not make a burnout, he has until the end of the session to make a run.

Both drivers pedaled their way down the track. Hossler will have one more chance today to back up his pending records, plus however many rounds he goes tomorrow.

Hector came off the line, the car bogged briefly, he pedaled and finished the run. Holt's car shook immediate;y. he backpedaled, shook again. Then, with little fanfare, the car started burning in the shutdown area. The fire truck got there in time to prevent severe damage.

Martin's "Lowmad" shook and danced. he backpedaled, it did not help. Meanwhile, Snider made a very nice pass to move all the way up to third spot.

Wantye shook and slowed. Neal made a strong run to move well into the field, bumping Martin - so the two cars not in the field are Joey Martin and Todd Tutterow, and Tutterow is sitting in the lanes, right behind the next pair.

Stanley's car shook hard and slowed. Tindle made a strong run and shuffled the bottom half of the field once more.

Neal Wantye is on the bump spot at 6.503. His chances to stay there do not look good with Tutterow in position to bump him out.
The car spun the tire hard. He managed to get it hooked up enough to bump into the field anyway, bumping Wantye.
Now Richard Holt is on the bump spot at 6.214.

Dr. Moon and the Al Anabi crew got Smith's starting problem sorted out and the car ran a thousandth better than it did in the first session, taking back the third spot by three hundredths of a mile per hour. Taylor shook and headed for the centerline, forcing him to lift.
