Give Hintz the bravery award for this run. His car was tail-happy, but he stayed with it and straightened it out without lifting. Gahm left with Hintz, but it appeared he had problems under the hood, the car not responding like it usually does.

They left together, but Goforth had the wheels up on a hard charge and the rear tires started shaking, forcing him to lift. Morton made a good run, quickly erasing Goforth's early lead for a surprisingly easy win.

Eman slapped a great light on Penland, then Penland's car decided that the groove was along the wall and went over to the left, while Eman went right down the groove with a career-best ET and speed.

Kirk was perfect on the tree, then had to backpedal at about 100 feet and Berner went by to take the lead. he didn't give it back.

Pete Berner's incremental margins (negative if behind): 60ft(-0.090), 330 ft(0.004). MOV: 0.0337 seconds (approximately 9 feet).

Berner races Eman in round two, Eman has lane choice.

Ouch! Montecalvo threw away a good run with an early launch, and Goforth was there for the taking. Goforth's car shook and bogged and chugged its way down the track, the win light on all the way. Goforth faces Morton in round two, Morton has lane choice.
