HEBRON, Ohio -- Even with the weather looking not so good several racers studied the weather and trusted the weather person that the day would be fine. Fine it was and there were 30 cars that showed to do battle. There were a few? that either withdrew or broke for various reasons. ?First round pairings found 28 cars on the sheet but there were a couple of broke singles.
The dial in race sponsored for this race by PK Race n Rods was won by Mike Walters driving his GT/JA Firebird. He ran 6.760 on his 6.76 dial for the $100 cash.
?Best first Round Winning Package was won big time by Bob Sheiff driving his '80 Dodge Aspen classified as an IHRA Stock GT/F. Bob cut a .001 light and ran a 7.780 on his 7.78 dial in. Can't get much better than that, a .001 package! Congrats Bob for winning the $100 sponsored by Jeff's Auto Body & Collision.
Semifinal parings were Jake McGee driving his G/CM '79 Malibu who defeated Rob Holmes J/SA '77 Firebird. Jake had the better light and forced Rob to run under his dial by .011.Michael Beard and Zac Ross faced off in the battle of '80 Volare's. Zac's G/SA classified entry vs. Michael's GT/HA entry. Zac had a slight starting line deficit and was forced under his dial in for the loss.
?Final round found MOPAR vs. CHEVROLET. McGee painted a 7.13 dial on his car and Beard a 6.75.McGee popped a .004 to .033 advantage for himself and turned it into a win, running a 7.165 to the Volare's 6.776.
