Left Lane: Leshon Norman Runs 4.528/154.76, Now #10; Best prior run: 4.426/152.66, Was #10
12:16 p.m. Sounded like Norman had problems with the gear shifts.
Left Lane: Jack Young Runs 4.267/165.40, Now #9; Best prior run: 4.234/157.50, Was #9
Right Lane: Paul Gast Runs 4.092/174.46, Now #3; Best prior run: 4.128/173.03, Was #5
Casey Stemper is on the bump spot at 4.200.
Young failed to improve and won't make the eight-bike field for eliminations. Gast made his best run of the event and moved into the top half of the field.
Left Lane: TT Jones Runs 4.242/163.75, Now #7; Best prior run: 4.184/166.52, Was #7
Right Lane: Carlos Wilkerson Runs 4.394/125.66, Now #5; Best prior run: 4.119/164.13, Was #5
The track crew took a close look at Young's lane, but it was clear.
A pair of TT Jones bikes here...Wilkerson was a tenth ahead of Jones at the 330, but his bike started to smoke and slowed.
Left Lane: Terry Schweigert Runs 4.115/168.16, Now #5; Best prior run: 4.131/168.94, Was #6
Right Lane: Eric McKinney Runs 4.105/171.10, Now #2; Best prior run: 4.083/171.99, Was #2
Schweigert's bike kept getting closer and closer to the wall, but he did not back off and moved one rung up the ladder. McKinney also made a good run, but did not improve.
Right Lane: Dave Vantine Runs 4.089/172.87, Now #1; Best prior run: 4.071/175.07, Was #1
Casey Stemper, qualified eighth, did not make a run in this session after grenading an engine yesterday. His first-round opponent, Vantine, made a nice tuning pass to get ready for round one.
