SEATTLE, Washington - Mike Rice, Director for NHRA Division Six announced the Northwest Division 2002 Schedule today. The popular series will return to the same tracks in 2002, but with two new venues. Mission Raceway, which hosted two divisional series events last year will host only one event in 2002. Racers and fans will return to Kent Washington to Pacific Raceways in Kent, WA.
"I'm extremely excited about bringing a divisional event back to Pacific Raceways." said Rice. "Pacific Raceways had long been the "go to" track of the Northwest Division, and I look forward to helping Jay Livingston and the Fiorito family bring the facility and its events back to that status. With the Lucas Oil Northwest Nationals returning in July of 2002, this event will give our racers and fans a preview of what's in store."
A seventh event will be held August 16-18, 2002 at Race City Motorsports Park in Calgary, Alberta. Mike commented about the Calgary event: "The Calgary race will count toward any and all championships. It will only go against a racers quota as an out of division event. This event will not count toward the Jeg's All-Star program, that is the only difference."
