Adams, Hoefer and Pine Earn NHRA Pacific Division Summit Racing Series Victories

At The Strip at Las Vegas Motor Speedway



LAS VEGAS - The Strip at Las Vegas Motor Speedway captured the team championship while Jesse Adams, C.W. Hoefer and Aaron Pine took home the individual championship at this weekend's NHRA Pacific Division Summit Racing Series Finals at The Strip at Las Vegas Motor Speedway.

Adams, Yuba City, Calif., worked his way through the field in Super Pro and ran 8.019 seconds at 165.01 mph in his final round victory over Zach Meziere, Escondido, Calif., who clocked in at 7.772 seconds, 177.02 mph

In Pro, it was Max Tafoya Jr., Albuquerque, N.M., who outlasted the competition knocking out Rod McGregor, Glendora, Calif., in the final with a pass of 9.834 seconds, 128.04 mph, while Hoefer, Calimesa, Calif., defeated Sarah Robbins, Grand Junction, Colo., with a time of 12.621 at 102.50 mph for the Sportsman title.

Pine, La Mirada, Calif., rounded out the weekend's winners with a lap of 8.446 seconds, 156.37 mph to take down Leo Shaver, Las Vegas, Nev.

In the Summit Super Showdown competition it was Roger Kato, Las Vegas, taking the win in Super Pro over Tim Koehler, Lodi, Calif.; Rick Reynolds, San Diego, defeated Scott Parsons, Monroe, Utah, in Pro; Gary Hairfield, San Diego, took the Sportsman trophy against C.W. Hoefer, Calimesa, Calif.; and the Bike/Sled title went to Tom Medlin, La Mirada, Calif., who outran Dave Miller, Whittier, Calif.

The four Summit Super Showdown champions will advance to the NHRA Summit National Championship in November at Auto Club Raceway at Pomona to face off with the winner's from the other six NHRA divisions for a winner take all national championship.
