Pro Nitrous Qualifying Notes, Final Session

MARTIN, Mich. - Notes from final, round 4 qualifying in Pro Nitrous at the 2013 ADRL Tour presented by Speedtech, ADRL Summer Drags IX listing lane, driver name, elapsed time/top speed this round, position in order following run, best prior elapsed time/speed, and position in order prior to run:
Left Lane: John Decerbo Runs 8.156/53.96, Now #12; Best prior run: 3.964/183.95, Was #12
Right Lane: John Hall Runs 3.806/196.77, Now #2; Best prior run: 3.873/195.46, Was #8

9:56 p.m. Decerbo shook and slowed. Hall made a pretty run, easily a career-best.

Left Lane: Kenny Rucker Runs 5.017/146.64, Now #18; Best prior run: 6.134/75.82, Was #18
Right Lane: Tommy Franklin Runs 3.887/192.57, Now #9; Best prior run: 4.095/181.72, Was #15

Rucker improved, but not enough to make the field. Franklin also improved and moved well up the ladder with career-best numbers.

Left Lane: Blake Housley No Time, Now #11; Best prior run: 3.912/191.73, Was #11
Right Lane: Josh Green Runs 4.083/160.11, Now #16; Best prior run: 4.189/167.68, Was #16

Housley broke on the burnout and was pushed back. Meanwhile, one of the track workers was spraying a fire bottle under the rear of the car. That's not a good sign. Reportedly it was a battery fire.

Green was on a good pass to abpout 500 feet, then there was a flash and some large sparks came out of the headers.

Left Lane: Jim Laurita Runs 3.765/197.98, Now #1; Best prior run: 3.800/197.87, Was #1
Right Lane: Keith Jackson Runs 8.522/73.60, Now #15; Best prior run: 4.041/182.44, Was #15

Jackson shook, got sideways, and lifted. Laurita didn't lift, he sailed right down the track with a career-best ET.

Jim Laurita's incremental times: 60ft-0.948 sec., 330ft-2.523.

Left Lane: Ed Burnley Runs 3.958/185.74, Now #12; Best prior run: 3.960/187.08, Was #12
Right Lane: Mike Castellana Runs 3.802/192.62, Now #2; Best prior run: 3.847/191.25, Was #6

Castellana stepped on it some more this round and he moved all the way up to the #2 spot with a season-best ET. Burnleyu also ran a season-best, but sacrificed a few pistons in the lights.

Ed Burnley's incremental times: 60ft-0.973 sec., 330ft-2.632.
Mike Castellana's incremental times: 60ft-0.936 sec., 330ft-2.528.

Left Lane: Bob Rahaim Runs -99.999/0.00, Now #8; Best prior run: 3.857/195.13, Was #7
Right Lane: Jason Harris Runs 3.851/191.03, Now #7; Best prior run: 3.857/192.81, Was #8

Rahaim's chutes came out on the burnout and one of his crewmembers ran all the way down to get him stopped before he backed over the chutes. Still lost the run, but saved the chutes and the car's suspension from possible damage.

Harris made a nice run, a career-best ET in fact, and moved up one spot on the ladder.

Right Lane: John Camp Runs 3.884/188.77, Now #9; Best prior run: 3.892/190.12, Was #10

Stop me if you've heard this before...Camp ran a career-best ET and moved one rung up the ladder.

Right Lane: Steve Jackson Runs 5.040/99.43, Now #4; Best prior run: 3.808/195.39, Was #4

Jackson laft hard, shook and lifted.
