BRISTOL, Tenn. - Results of round 1 eliminations in Pro Stock at the NHRA Mello Yello Drag Racing Series, 13th annual Ford NHRA Thunder Valley Nationals presented by Tri-Cities Area Ford Dealers:

Brogdon is 6 - 2 against Gaines in prior events. They leave together and then it is all Brogdon for the win by 0.0267 seconds (approximately 8 feet).

Anderson is making his 300th race day start. Greg Anderson has won this race twice in 2001 and 2004. The 2001 win was the first of his career. Anderson is 26 - 16 against Stanfield in prior events. Stanfield is too quick on the tree and turned on the red light.

this is Coughlin's 300th race day start. Coughlin is 7 - 0 against Jones in prior events. They leave together with Jones getting a slight advantage, but it was all Coughlin from there on. Jeg Coughlin's MOV: 0.0361 seconds (approximately 11 feet). Coughlin with the quickest pass of the round, so far.

This is the 5th time this year Vincent Nobile has qualified in the bottom half of the field. He did that once in the entire 2012 season. They left together and they are side-by-side all the way down the track and Line gets the win. Jason Line's MOV: 0.0026 seconds (approximately 9 inches).

This is Morgan's 400th race day start. Enders-Stevens is 5 - 3 against Morgan in prior events. Morgan has problems getting the car to start and Enders-Stevens waits on him. Morgan with the starting line advantage, but Enders-Stevens chases him around 1000 feet and takes the win by 0.0104 seconds (approximately 3 feet). She will give up lane choice to Coughlin in the next round.

Mike Edwards became the 4th Pro Stock driver to qualify #1 fifty times or more. Mike has won this race four years in a row. Carr with the starting line advantage and then is out of the groove over by the wall. Edwards has the starting line advantage made up by the time they went by the Christmas tree. Edwards will have lane choice over Brogdon in the next round.

Worden turns on the red light and then drifted out of the groove and was real loose reeling it back into the groove. Johnson with the easy win. and will have lane choice over Anderson in the next round.

This is the first time Kent and Gray have faced each other in eliminations. Kent with the starting line advantage and then moved toward the wall, but he reeled it in. Gray has the difference made up by 150 feet and took the win by 0.0731 seconds (approximately 22 feet). Gray will have lane choice over Line by 0.002 seconds in the next round.
