TOPEKA, Kan. - Notes from round 1 qualifying in Pro Stock at the NHRA Mello Yello Drag Racing Series, 25th annual NHRA Kansas Nationals listing lane, driver name, elapsed time, top speed, and position in order following run:
Right Lane: Deric Kramer Runs 15.556/53.62, Now #1

Kramer with violent tire shake right at the hit and clicked it off and coast on through the 1320.

Left Lane: Steve Kent Runs 6.734/205.98, Now #2
Right Lane: Rickie Jones Runs 6.683/207.24, Now #1

Weather conditions: air temperature 83 degrees, relative humidity 62 percent, barometer 28.70 inches, adjusted altitude 3,717 feet, track temperature 112 degrees.

This was good drag race...Steve Kent's incremental times: 60ft-1.014 sec., 330ft-2.830, 660ft-4.338/163.10 mph, 1,000ft-5.639.
Rickie Jones' incremental times: 60ft-1.010 sec., 330ft-2.811, 660ft-4.306/164.83 mph, 1,000ft-5.595.


Left Lane: Matt Hartford Runs 6.667/207.46, Now #1
Right Lane: Larry Morgan Runs 12.949/64.68, Now #4

Morgan with a violent tire shake and made a quick move toward the right wall before he clicked it off. Hartford with a nice pass to start the weekend...Matt Hartford's incremental times: 60ft-0.995 sec., 330ft-2.792, 660ft-4.290/164.45 mph, 1,000ft-5.581.

Left Lane: Chris McGaha Runs 7.070/161.02, Now #5
Right Lane: Rodger Brogdon Runs 6.709/206.35, Now #3

McGaha was drifting toward the centerline and was hugging all the way down the 1320. Brogdon with a real nice pass...Rodger Brogdon's incremental times: 60ft-1.010 sec., 330ft-2.819, 660ft-4.321/163.77 mph, 1,000ft-5.617.

Left Lane: Greg Stanfield Runs 6.681/206.51, Now #3
Right Lane: V. Gaines Runs 6.674/207.82, Now #2

This was a good side-by-side drag race. Greg Stanfield's incremental times: 60ft-0.992 sec., 330ft-2.793, 660ft-4.295/164.05 mph, 1,000ft-5.589.
V. Gaines' incremental times: 60ft-1.009 sec., 330ft-2.811, 660ft-4.305/164.83 mph, 1,000ft-5.591.

Left Lane: Greg Anderson Runs 6.662/207.88, Now #1
Right Lane: Vincent Nobile Runs 6.685/206.89, Now #6

Nobile with the quickest 60-foot time of the round, and gets into the top half of the show. Vincent Nobile's incremental times: 60ft-1.005 sec., 330ft-2.807, 660ft-4.305/164.01 mph, 1,000ft-5.596. Anderson with a real nice pass to go to the number one spot. Greg Anderson's incremental times: 60ft-1.007 sec., 330ft-2.815, 660ft-4.292/166.93 mph, 1,000ft-5.578.

Left Lane: Shane Gray Runs 6.661/207.82, Now #1
Right Lane: Jason Line Runs 6.684/207.40, Now #7

Gray with quickest 60-foot time of the session and parlays that into the number one spot. Shane Gray's incremental times: 60ft-1.002 sec., 330ft-2.796, 660ft-4.289/164.97 mph, 1,000ft-5.576. Line gets into the top half of the show. Jason Line's incremental times: 60ft-1.007 sec., 330ft-2.812, 660ft-4.308/164.87 mph, 1,000ft-5.598.

Left Lane: Erica Enders-Stevens Runs 6.656/207.62, Now #2
Right Lane: Allen Johnson Runs 6.651/208.10, Now #1

Johnson launched hard and keep it hooked up to go to the number one spot. Allen Johnson's incremental times: 60ft-1.000 sec., 330ft-2.797, 660ft-4.288/165.25 mph, 1,000ft-5.570. Enders-Stevens with a new sponsor this weekend Black Iguana and goes to the number two spot. Erica Enders-Stevens' incremental times: 60ft-0.996 sec., 330ft-2.791, 660ft-4.284/164.93 mph, 1,000ft-5.571.

Left Lane: Jeg Coughlin Runs 6.641/207.98, Now #2
Right Lane: Mike Edwards Runs 6.626/208.49, Now #1

This was a great drag race to wrap up round one of qualifying as they go to the number one and two spot. Jeg Coughlin's incremental times: 60ft-0.997 sec., 330ft-2.788, 660ft-4.277/165.38 mph, 1,000ft-5.559.
Mike Edwards' incremental times: 60ft-0.995 sec., 330ft-2.781, 660ft-4.267/165.76 mph, 1,000ft-5.547.
