Right Lane: Van Puckett Runs 8.159/164.25/-0.691, Now #1 G/AA Index: 8.85

Pontillo left on Puckett's green, but it's all good in qualifying. Puckett vaults to the top of the heap. Van Puckett's incremental times: 60ft-1.146 sec., 330ft-3.330, 660ft-5.187/132.35 mph, 1,000ft-6.793.

Right Lane: Fred Allen Runs 8.712/157.95/-0.328, Now #7 C/SR Index: 9.04

Allen's engine was not happy at the top end, he had some kind of misfire going on.

Left Lane: Ray Skillman Runs 8.394/161.09/-0.596, Now #7 E/SMA Index: 8.99
Right Lane: Steve Ambrose Runs 7.723/167.28/-0.667, Now #3 J/AA Index: 8.39

Side-by-side six second passes in comp, Rosenstiel low ET of the round by a bunch. Rodney Rosenstiel's incremental times: 60ft-1.042 sec., 330ft-2.657, 660ft-4.015/181.32 mph, 1,000ft-5.193.
Pat Williams' incremental times: 60ft-1.037 sec., 330ft-2.941, 660ft-4.488/160.19 mph, 1,000ft-5.804.

Left Lane: Lee Sharp Runs 8.272/161.40/-0.678, Now #5 D/SMA Index: 8.95
Right Lane: Greg Kamplain Runs 6.831/182.90/-0.689, Now #4 B/ED Index: 7.52

Right Lane: Robert Bailey Runs 7.401/143.87/0.191, Now #19 A/ED Index: 7.21

Nice pass for Martel, right down the groove. Bailey lifted early, the reason not clear from this vantage point.

Left Lane: Art Hodges Runs 7.563/170.06/-0.367, Now #16 C/A Index: 7.93
Right Lane: Grant Lewis Runs 8.706/154.55/0.236, Now #21 F/EA Index: 8.47

Right Lane: Lonnie Johnson Runs 9.650/113.94/2.080, Now #23 B/AA Index: 7.57

Johnson hooked hard toward the tree on the launch, and had to pedal to get back over in the groove. The Neon didn't settle down, so he wisely lifted.

Left Lane: Tony Terry Runs 8.306/163.53/-0.544, Now #17 G/AA Index: 8.85
Right Lane: Glen Treadwell Runs 8.187/142.84/-0.753, Now #4 G/ED Index: 8.94

Treadwell ran under the current class record in EEA, but it's only good enough for the 4th spot... He holds the current class record btw...

Glen Treadwell's incremental times: 60ft-1.136 sec., 330ft-3.266, 660ft-5.096/133.08 mph, 1,000ft-6.713.

Right Lane: Jeff Adkinson Runs 8.371/161.59/-0.579, Now #19 D/SMA Index: 8.95

Left Lane: Bo Butner Runs 8.354/149.45/-0.636, Now #14 E/SMA Index: 8.99

Butner cut a .004 light - Bo Butner's incremental times: 60ft-1.193 sec., 330ft-3.421, 660ft-5.296/131.48 mph, 1,000ft-6.931.

So round one of Comp ends with Rodney Rosenstiel's AA/A on top - and with low ET and top speed in the class to boot. 5:13 p.m.
