ROCKINGHAM, N.C. - Notes from round 1 qualifying in Pro Extreme at the 2013 ADRL Tour presented by Speedtech, Dragpalooza IX listing lane, driver name, elapsed time, top speed, and position in order following run:
Left Lane: Monte Grace No Time, Now #2
Right Lane: Srefan Holmberg No Time, Now #1
Both cars chattered the tires hard. Holmberg slowed, Grace tried to drive through it. His car fishtailed hard, headed for the left wall. He got it pointed down the track, but hit the wall hard with the left side of the car. The car then turned and went straight across the track, crossing in front of Holmberg, hitting the right wall almost head-on. There was a brief flareup, but the safety crew got there quickly and put out the remaining flames. Holmberg did a nice job of driving to stop short of Grace's car, then got out to help, but the safety crew beat him to the car.
Grace took a couple of hard hits, but he was conscious and talking with the safety crew after he was removed from the car and declined the offer of a ride to the hospital for a checkout.
Left Lane: John Stanley Runs 3.691/209.04, Now #1
Right Lane: Richard Holt Runs 4.177/134.46, Now #2
11:58 a.m. Back to racing. Stanley made a stout run, with a career-best ET and speed, to take the #1 spot for now.
John Stanley's incremental times: 60ft-0.947 sec., 330ft-2.498.
Left Lane: Von Smith Runs 5.320/86.35, Now #4
Right Lane: Joey Martin Runs 4.562/116.55, Now #3

Left Lane: Tim Tindle Runs 3.807/172.41, Now #3
Right Lane: Bubba Stanton Runs 3.625/211.56, Now #1
Stanton made the best run in yesterday's test session, a low sixty on a less-than-perfect run.
He did it again, straight down the groove this time.

Left Lane: Alex Hossler Runs 3.777/183.05, Now #4
Right Lane: Tommy D'Aprile Runs 3.667/206.89, Now #2

Tommy D'Aprile's incremental times: 60ft-0.919 sec., 330ft-2.470.
Left Lane: Jason Scruggs Runs 3.726/208.81, Now #4
Right Lane: Mick Snyder No Time, Now #12
Snyder's passenger-side door popped open on the burnout and almost fell off the car. The crew ran out and put the door back on, but it came loose again after he backed up and Scruggs made a solo pass. He launched, started to shake, and did a very good job of backpedaling to save the run.
Jason Scruggs' incremental times: 60ft-0.899 sec., 330ft-2.526.
Left Lane: Terry Leggett Runs 4.011/185.10, Now #8
Right Lane: Todd Tutterow Runs 3.785/203.92, Now #6
Leggett pedaled two or three times to finish his run. Tutterow didn't have as many problems, but his speed was down a bit.
Left Lane: Brandon Snider Runs 4.841/101.22, Now #11
Snider launched, started to spin the tires and fishtailed a few times, then lifted.
