Right Lane: Jerry Eckman Runs 6.588/209.52, Now #9; No Prior Run
11:31 a.m. Weather conditions: air temperature 64 degrees, relative humidity 34 percent, barometer 28.93 inches, adjusted altitude 1,672 feet, track temperature 80 degrees.
The motorcycles stepped way up in their first session today, so the
four-wheeled variety should also improve over the first two rounds.
Left Lane: Mike Edwards Runs 6.572/211.79, Now #7; Best prior run: 6.597/210.24, Was #13
Right Lane: Mark Wolfe Runs 6.957/205.85, Now #14; No Prior Run
Edwards was in the top twelve yesterday, so he got to keep his time.
Wolfe was all over his lane and came up way short. Edwards made his best run of the event and moved into the top half - for now.
Left Lane: Steve Kalkowski Runs 6.630/207.62, Now #15; No Prior Run
Right Lane: JR Carr Runs 6.603/208.62, Now #14; No Prior Run
Kalkowski also made his best run of the event, but Carr was a couple thousandths slower than he was yesterday.
Left Lane: Larry Morgan Runs 6.588/208.84, Now #12; No Prior Run
Right Lane: Greg Stanfield Runs 6.591/209.01, Now #14; Best prior run: 6.591/209.52, Was #13
Morgan made his best run of the event, Stanfield matched his best from yesterday.
Left Lane: Deric Kramer Runs 6.684/208.94, Now #17; No Prior Run
Right Lane: Warren Johnson Runs 6.571/209.59, Now #7; Best prior run: 6.588/209.20, Was #11
Kramer's car made a big S-Turn at the launch and WJ's run was also far from straight. Kramer had a quicker run yesterday, but Johnson made his best run so far.
Left Lane: Kurt Johnson Runs 6.591/209.82, Now #14; No Prior Run
Right Lane: Shane Gray Runs 6.573/210.05, Now #9; Best prior run: 6.588/209.98, Was #10
KJ's car was a little loose in the first part of the run, but he bumped in. Gray improved slightly, moved up one spot.
Now JR Carr is on the bump spot at 6.603.
Left Lane: Jeg Coughlin Runs 6.574/210.83, Now #11; No Prior Run
Right Lane: Ron Krisher Runs 6.564/206.16, Now #6; Best prior run: 6.577/210.05, Was #10
Coughlin made a nice-looking run, the car on rails. Krisher's was even better, his best by over a hundredth.
Now Greg Stanfield is on the bump spot at 6.591.
Left Lane: Chris McGaha Runs 6.557/210.50, Now #6; No Prior Run
Right Lane: Erica Enders Runs 6.549/211.83, Now #5; Best prior run: 6.550/211.59, Was #5
McGaha made a nice run, his quickest of the event with a career-best speed. Enders made an even better run, improved just a thousandth, stayed fifth.
Now Kurt Johnson is on the bump spot at 6.591.

Gaines shook and lifted. Brogdon made a good run, but it was not his best.

It is obvious that Johnson will be the new champion, but it won't be official until the final qualifying session since it is remotely possible he could be bumped from the field. It is also remotely possible that all the air in the room will end up over in the corner and we will all suffocate. About the same odds.
Nobile improved slightly, so did AJ.
