Right Lane: Jason Rupert Runs 18.105/85.07, Now #1
4:17 p.m. Rupert locked up the NHRA Heritage Series Funny Car championship two weeks ago, but that didn't help him here. He shook hard and shut off quickly. Kaplan had an even worse first pass, the car going dead about five feet off the starting line.
Left Lane: Keeter Ray Runs 5.739/252.38, Now #1
Right Lane: Doug Gordon Runs 6.784/151.12, Now #2

Ray is in Randy Goodwin's Monte Carlo this weekend. He used up a lot of his lane, but made a full pass to get soething on the books to tune from. Gordon shook and smoked the tires, then lifted.

Right Lane: Shane Westerfield Runs 5.723/252.66, Now #1
Thompson is having a good year, his national event win at Dallas a few weeks back one of the highlights.
Good, clean runs in both lanes, Westerfield a few thousandths quicker, to secure the top two spots.
Left Lane: Steve Gasparrelli Runs 5.637/257.53, Now #1
Right Lane: John Lombardo Jr. Runs 5.672/255.48, Now #2
Two more good runs, Lombardo's car a little straighter, Gasparrelli's a little quicker.
Left Lane: Kris Hool Runs 5.758/256.16, Now #6
Right Lane: Jay Payne Runs 11.934/108.59, Now #8
Payne is in a replacement car after tangling with the walls at the Texas Motorplex.

Bartone made a pretty run, right down the groove and into the top spot on the ladder. Whiteley stayed close all the way and moved into third spot.
