Pro Stock Motorcycle Qualifying Notes, Final Session

LAS VEGAS - Notes from final, round 4 qualifying in Pro Stock Motorcycle at the NHRA Full Throttle Drag Racing Series, 12th annual Big O Tires NHRA Nationals listing lane, rider name, elapsed time/top speed this round, position in order following run, best prior elapsed time/speed, and position in order prior to run:
Left Lane: Jerry Savoie No Time, Now #27; Best prior run: 7.643/132.43, Was #26
Right Lane: Daryl Meadows Runs 7.443/176.33, Now #26; Best prior run: 7.660/165.46, Was #27

2:58 p.m. Weather conditions: air temperature 79 degrees, relative humidity 17 percent, barometer 27.87 inches, adjusted altitude 4,035 feet, track temperature 98 degrees.

Savoie was scheduled to make this pass but was a no-show. Meadows makes his quickest pass of the weekend but doesn't make the show.


Left Lane: Matt Guidera Runs 7.196/185.23, Now #24; Best prior run: 7.227/181.74, Was #24
Right Lane: Charles Sullivan Runs 7.587/175.78, Now #25; Best prior run: 7.350/174.23, Was #25

Guidera improves but doesn't make the show. No help for Sullivan.

Left Lane: James Surber Runs 7.276/183.94, Now #20; Best prior run: 7.172/184.04, Was #20
Right Lane: Wesley Wells Runs 7.228/183.00, Now #23; Best prior run: 7.192/184.32, Was #23

Surber and Wells both slow from their earlier attempts.

Left Lane: Redell Harris Runs 7.068/189.23, Now #15; Best prior run: 7.133/188.78, Was #18
Right Lane: Katie Sullivan Runs 10.479/77.59, Now #22; Best prior run: 7.183/186.00, Was #22

Sullivan has problems and shuts down early. Harris improves and gets in the show, bumping out Burley.

Left Lane: Michael Phillips Runs 7.079/188.62, Now #17; Best prior run: 7.120/188.25, Was #18
Right Lane: Mike Berry Runs 7.179/184.55, Now #21; Best prior run: 7.175/184.60, Was #21

Phillips equals GT Tonglet's time but ran a slower MPH and will not make the show. Berry slows and doesn't get in the show.

Left Lane: Kieth Burley Runs 7.137/184.37, Now #18; Best prior run: 7.108/185.87, Was #18
Right Lane: Jim Underdahl Runs 7.070/189.68, Now #14; Best prior run: 7.059/188.15, Was #14

Burley slows and does not get back in the show. No improvement for Underdahl.

Left Lane: GT Tonglet Runs 7.330/189.36, Now #16; Best prior run: 7.079/190.03, Was #16
Right Lane: John Hall Runs 7.120/189.84, Now #12; Best prior run: 7.006/190.38, Was #12



Left Lane: Shawn Gann Runs 7.097/189.31, Now #13; Best prior run: 7.011/190.43, Was #13
Right Lane: Karen Stoffer Runs 7.004/190.81, Now #11; Best prior run: 6.996/190.89, Was #11

Gann gets close to the centerline near the end of the run and doesn't improve.

Left Lane: Steve Johnson Runs 7.071/188.62, Now #10; Best prior run: 6.994/190.22, Was #10
Right Lane: Chip Ellis Runs 7.056/190.14, Now #9; Best prior run: 6.990/191.24, Was #9



Left Lane: Hector Arana Runs 7.004/192.60, Now #7; Best prior run: 6.989/191.57, Was #7
Right Lane: Scotty Pollacheck Runs 7.014/189.34, Now #8; Best prior run: 6.989/189.87, Was #8



Left Lane: Michael Ray Runs 6.997/191.05, Now #5; Best prior run: 6.970/190.92, Was #5
Right Lane: LE Tonglet Runs 7.014/192.11, Now #6; Best prior run: 6.973/192.52, Was #6



Left Lane: Matt Smith Runs 6.949/192.96, Now #3; Best prior run: 6.955/192.25, Was #3
Right Lane: Hector Arana Jr Runs 6.986/193.68, Now #2; Best prior run: 6.912/194.41, Was #2

Smith makes an impressive pass for the conditions and is easily the quickest of the round so far.

Left Lane: Eddie Krawiec Runs 6.966/194.13, Now #1; Best prior run: 6.902/195.11, Was #1
Right Lane: Andrew Hines Runs 7.031/192.17, Now #4; Best prior run: 6.963/194.07, Was #4

Krawiec goes right down the groove but doesn't improve. Hines makes a decent pass but doesn't improve.
