It's Bartone from start to finish, with a new quick ET and fastest MPH in the decisive win.

McGee gave it all that he could with his best times of the weekend by far, but to no avail.

Both cars make good passes in round one yesterday.

Romine gets away first and has the power to pull further ahead going down the track. The car is 212.16 MPH at half track, but joins Murphy near the 1000 foot lights with a ton of smoke from the engine.

It's reported that the car got loose and hit the left guard rail after the finish line. He's OK and will take lane choice over Sorokin in round three by just 0.003, if they can make the call.

Murphy gave it a valiant try, but the parts gave up too soon.

12:20 p.m. Time to check the top end for oil and check out Romine.

  772 Rick Williamson Bye

12:38 p.m. Back from a big time clean up after the lights and all the way to the turn out.

Williams gets the bye run to round three, after a lucky win last round. He leaves in a cloud of clutch smoke and makes a strong pass to near the light, where the engine starts to make small pieces out of large ones. A good try, but Bartone will have lane choice next round.

Oh, yeah: More oil on the top end!

Rick Williamson's incremental times: 60ft-1.041 sec., 330ft-2.649, 660ft-3.859/207.88 mph, 1,000ft-4.863.
