DINWIDDIE, Va. -- On Saturday, August 8, the Pro Outlaw Doorslammers (POD) brought IT with another exciting show at Virginia Motorsports Park (VMP). With wonderful weather, the POD had a field of race cars that were ultra competitive. Twenty-four race teams battled it out for the sixteen qualified positions. At the conclusion of the final qualifying session, the qualified field rounded out with a 4.38 bump spot. There were no easy rounds of eliminations, each pair came prepared with their most competitive set up and ready to win attitude. As the event entered the semi finals with Dewayne Silance taking the victory over Terry Dehaven and Marc Hayes taking the win over Jeremy Hoy, it was clear that the all nitrous final round -Buck vs. Fulton power, would be full of excitement. In true POD fashion the final round was close, with Dewayne Silance edging out Marc Haynes, with a 4.10 to a 4.12. Congratulations to event winner Dewayne the Hogfarmer Silance and the entire Silance Racing Team! The event at VMP really shook up the championship points. The 2009 POD championship points chase is still up for grabs and has increased the anticipation of the final two events remaining on the 2009 racing season. POD is looking forward to seeing you-our fans, teams, and sponsors at our next race on September 6th at Maryland International Raceway.
