BAYTOWN, Texas -- The 12th annual Pontiac Pro Stock Super Bowl returns to Houston Raceway Park on Saturday, February 7, 2004. All Pro Stock, Pro Stock Bike and Pro Mod competitors interested in a final test-and-tune session prior to the start of the '04 season are invited to attend.

"The Pontiac Pro Stock Super Bowl has become a preseason tradition that we're very proud of at Houston Raceway Park," said Gerald Critchfield, Houston Raceway Park general manager. "We're delighted to give the fans a first look at the 2004 race teams as they debut their new cars at one of the country's premier motorsports facilities.

"The Pontiac Pro Stock Super Bowl will also provide racers with their first head-to-head meetings since last November at the NHRA Finals, and it's a bonus for drag racing fans because of the tremendous turnout of familiar names. It's sure to be a outstanding event since it may be the last test session some of these competitors have before the season gets underway."

Drivers invited to attend the '04 Pontiac Pro Stock Super Bowl include '03 POWERade champion Greg Anderson, six-time NHRA champion Warren Johnson, two-time champions Jeg Coughlin Jr. and Jim Yates, Kurt Johnson, Mark Pawuk, Troy Coughlin, Jason Line, Mike Edwards, Bruce Allen, Ron Krisher, Mark Pawuk and others.

"The Pontiac Pro Stock Super Bowl marks the beginning of an exciting time of year for everyone in our sport," said Fred Simmonds, GM Racing marketing manager. "For the racers and teams, the Pontiac Pro Stock Super Bowl provides a final opportunity to make adjustments before we start counting points at Pomona. It also gives the fans a chance to see some fantastic times and speeds from some of the best drivers in the business."

Admission to the Pontiac Pro Stock Super Bowl is $18.00 for adults and $1.00 for children 12 and under! Gates will open at 8 a.m. on Saturday, February 7, with time trials scheduled for 9 a.m. Two rounds of Pro qualifying are slated for 10 a.m. and 12 p.m., with eliminations beginning at 2 p.m. The first 1000 fans will receive a free Pontiac Motorsports cap.
