Summit Racing Equipment has extended its associate sponsorship agreement with NHRA Funny Car driver Tim Wilkerson. The new agreement, along with associate agreements with Scott Kalitta and Tommy Johnson Jr., gives Summit Racing Equipment its largest presence ever in NHRA's ultra-competitive Funny Car class.

"Tim is widely known as one of the hardest working racers on the NHRA circuit," Kirk Heinbuch, Summit Racing Equipment Motorsports and Events Manager, said. "We believe that his strong work ethic and drive to succeed will help him remain one of the top drivers in the Funny Car class. "

Despite fielding a one-car team in a class dominated by multi-car operations, Wilkerson has made three Top Ten finishes (1998, 2003, 2004) in his career. He has six career national event wins, including a victory at the historic NHRA U.S. Nationals in Indianapolis in 2003.

In addition to its relationship with Tim Wilkerson, Summit Racing is the primary sponsor of 2005 NHRA Pro Stock champion Greg Anderson and Jason Line, who finished third in Pro Stock in 2005. The company is also an associate sponsor of Pro Stock drivers Warren Johnson, Kurt Johnson, Larry Morgan, and Mark Pawuk; Top Fuel drivers Doug Kalitta, David Grubnic, and Larry Dixon; and Funny Car drivers Scott Kalitta and Tommy Johnson Jr.
