2:22 p.m. Houniet had the luxury of a bye run to check out his tuneup after a one-day layoff for rain. He made a nice, smooth-looking pass.

Eastcott had a big holeshot, but something went sour in his engine around half track and Scott went by for the win.Mike Scott's incremental margins (negative if behind): 60ft(-0.123), 330 ft(-0.117), 660ft(-0.109), 1,000ft(0.069). MOV: 0.4374 seconds (approximately 89 feet). Scott faces Hall in the semifinals, Hall will pick the lanes.

Kent's drive belt broke about 300 feet out, the front wheel slamming down hard. Up to that point, he was in control and pulling away. Beauchemin faces Houniet in the semifinals, Houniet has lane choice.
