Track Drying Under Way
By Larry Sullivan

Looking For 5:30 p.m. Restart

EDMONTON, Alb. - 4 p.m. - Track drying has been under way for more than half an hour. There is still a lot of water on the track, with cool temperatures and a lack of sunshine hampering the effort.

When the track drying is complete, racing will resume with Professional qualifying, two sessions, back-to-back.

Sportsman qualifying for Stock Eliminator through Quick Rod is complete. Competitors will get one more time trial Sunday morning before going into eliminations.

Ladders for the qualified fields in Stock and Super Stock will be posted later this afternoon. The Rod eliminators will be randomly paired for two rounds, then will be put on a ladder based on second-round winners' times.

Top Sportsman and Top Dragster qualifying will be completed during the two remaining Professional qualifying sessions.

We are still at least an hour away from sending the first pair of cars down the track - officials are estimating a 5:30 p.m. start time..
