GRAND BEND, Ont. - Results of round 2 eliminations in Torco Race Fuels Pro Modified at the 2005 Hooters IHRA Drag Racing Series, Sixth annual Mopar Canadian Nationals presented by Castrol:

Spiering's car got out fo the groove and fishtailed several times when he tried to bring it back. Meanwhile, Harper was on rails, right down the groove.

Janis made a last-second lane swap, moving to the left lane. That may have been a factor because Janis was late and still able to run Martin down when Martin's car did some slipping and sliding in the middle of the run.

Billes had no trouble with the right lane, his car straight down the groove for the win after an excellent reaction time. Billes will have lane choice against Spiering in the semifinals.

Jenkins was uncharacteristically slow off the line and Auxier was well ahead and pulling away at half track. Auxier races Janis in the semifinals and Janis will choose the lanes.
