ENNIS, Texas - Results of round 2 eliminations in Funny Car at the 16th annual O'Reilly Fall Nationals presented by Castrol Syntec:

12:49 PM These two were even off the line, had the same sixty foot time at .943, then Johnson started pulling away at the 330 foot mark. Johnson kept the lead until just past the 1000 foot mark, then the car nosed over allowing Gray to drive by for the win. Margin of victory = 0.005 seconds (approximately 24 inches).

Gilbertson got a big holeshot, then hazed the tires at about 300 feet. Densham makes another great pass, right down the groove, for the easy win.

Force needs to go as many rounds as Bazemore this weekend to clinch the championship. Cannon was close until he got a little past half-track, then he hazes the tires and Force pulls away.

Bazemore will have to win this round to stay in the hunt for the championship. Worsham has lane choice and has picked the left lane, the lane of choice today. This will do it, John Force is the 2001 Funny Car champion. Worsham got a big holeshot, but Bazemore caught him by the 330 foot mark. He started hazing the tires just before halftrack and Worsham pulled away.
