DALLAS - Pro Stock Qualifying Notes, Session #3

ENNIS, Texas - Notes from round 3 qualifying in Pro Stock at the 16th annual O'Reilly Fall Nationals presented by Castrol Syntec listing lane, driver name, elapsed time/top speed this round, position in order following run, best prior elapsed time/speed, and position in order prior to run:

Left Lane: Allen Johnson Runs 7.001/198.58, Now #25; Best prior run: 7.006/197.88, Was #25
Right Lane: Eric Shelton Runs 14.287/58.49, Now #26; Best prior run: 7.016/196.33, Was #26

Shelton had problems right off the starting line and clicked it off. Johnson made a move in the right direction, but not enough to break into show. The bump is V. Gaines with a 6.926 seconds.

Left Lane: Tom Lee Runs 7.004/197.88, Now #26; Best prior run: 7.055/195.69, Was #28
Right Lane: Ed Heck Runs 8.443/115.39, Now #30; Best prior run: 7.139/193.54, Was #30

Lee like his teammate made a move in the right direction, but not enough. This is his quickest pass here in NHRA competition.

Left Lane: Mark Pawuk Runs 7.879/134.93, Now #29; Best prior run: 7.020/195.52, Was #28
Right Lane: Mike Thomas Runs 7.012/197.19, Now #27; Best prior run: 7.096/189.95, Was #29

Pawuk with tire shake off the starting line.

Left Lane: Richie Stevens Runs 6.936/198.58, Now #19; Best prior run: 6.959/198.36, Was #21
Right Lane: Kenny Koretsky Runs 6.984/198.19, Now #23; Best prior run: 6.965/198.63, Was #23

Stevens with a little wiggle around 200 feet and still made a move in the right direction.

Left Lane: Arturo Delgado Runs 7.012/197.36, Now #24; Best prior run: 6.966/197.23, Was #24
Right Lane: John Nobile Runs 6.953/199.55, Now #22; Best prior run: 6.965/198.98, Was #22

Nobile goes in the right direction.

Left Lane: Jeg Coughlin Runs 6.937/198.89, Now #17; Best prior run: 6.929/198.85, Was #17
Right Lane: Rickie Smith Runs 6.970/199.11, Now #18; Best prior run: 6.935/198.57, Was #18

Jeg with the quickest 60-foot time of the round, but still can't break into the show.

Left Lane: Bo Nickens Runs 6.925/200.17, Now #16; Best prior run: 6.952/199.51, Was #21
Right Lane: Greg Anderson Runs 6.907/199.07, Now #13; Best prior run: 6.913/199.68, Was #13

Both cars pick up and Bo gets into the show on the bump.

Left Lane: Larry Morgan Runs 6.931/199.55, Now #19; Best prior run: 6.942/199.77, Was #21
Right Lane: Darrell Alderman Runs 6.903/200.00, Now #12; Best prior run: 6.902/199.51, Was #12

Alderman does not improve, and Morgan goes in the right direction, but falls short.

Left Lane: V. Gaines Runs 6.912/200.66, Now #14; Best prior run: 6.926/199.24, Was #17
Right Lane: Kurt Johnson Runs 6.945/199.91, Now #10; Best prior run: 6.900/200.17, Was #10

Gaines gets back into the show here. Kurt slowed down as he had trouble getting off the starting line.

Left Lane: Hurley Blakeney Runs 6.882/200.49, Now #3; Best prior run: 6.920/199.07, Was #16
Right Lane: Tom Martino Runs 6.899/200.13, Now #10; Best prior run: 6.898/200.26, Was #9

Hurley with great looking pass to jump into the top half of the show and get off the bump.

Left Lane: Brad Jeter Runs 6.914/200.04, Now #16; Best prior run: 6.918/199.51, Was #16
Right Lane: Ron Krisher Runs 6.912/200.00, Now #8; Best prior run: 6.894/200.04, Was #8

Left Lane: Mark Osborne Runs 6.920/200.13, Now #12; Best prior run: 6.901/200.26, Was #12
Right Lane: Warren Johnson Runs 6.895/200.35, Now #7; Best prior run: 6.891/200.53, Was #7

Both of these guys with 1.02 60-foot times, but can not improve from last night's times.

Left Lane: George Marnell Runs 6.885/200.31, Now #5; Best prior run: 6.895/199.77, Was #9
Right Lane: Troy Coughlin Runs 6.887/200.75, Now #6; Best prior run: 6.887/200.98, Was #5

Marnell moves into the top half of the show.

Left Lane: Jim Yates Runs 6.877/200.62, Now #2; Best prior run: 6.888/199.68, Was #7
Right Lane: Bruce Allen Runs 6.890/200.22, Now #3; Best prior run: 6.878/200.35, Was #2

Yates with a good looking pass to jump into the number two spot and move Allen back one slot.

Left Lane: Tom Hammonds Runs 6.887/201.20, Now #5; Best prior run: 6.883/200.22, Was #5
Right Lane: Mike Edwards Runs 6.900/200.00, Now #1; Best prior run: 6.872/200.62, Was #1

No help for either of these guys, but Edwards holds on to the number one spot and Jeter rounds out the top 16.
