By David Rowe

MOHNTON, Pa. - Notes from final, round 4 qualifying in Funny Car at the 16th annual Keystone Nationals listing lane, driver name, elapsed time/top speed this round, position in order following run, best prior elapsed time/speed, and position in order prior to run:

Left Lane: Terry Haddock Runs 8.572/101.89, Now #20; Best prior run: 5.857/192.47, Was #19
Right Lane: Whit Bazemore Runs 5.631/178.50, Now #19; Best prior run: 8.190/97.91, Was #20

5:26 PM Bazemore hasn't made a full pass all weekend and this will be his last chance to get in the show....and he doesn't do it. He was on a good pass that would have gotten him in, then the engine shut down, raw fuel coming out of the pipes. Haddock pulls the wheels, pedals and gets back on it, pulls the wheels again and shuts it down. This is the first time this year Bazemore has failed to qualify.

Left Lane: Tommy Johnson Jr. Runs 9.677/75.29, Now #16; Best prior run: 5.167/245.49, Was #16
Right Lane: Phil Burkart Runs 14.726/76.87, Now #18; Best prior run: 5.627/191.87, Was #18

Johnson is on the bump and Burkart could bump him out here. Johnson comes out of the hole and he blows the burst panel off the car. Burkart goes up in smoke right off the line.

Creasy is the last driver that can knock Johnson out of the field for tomorrow....but he can't do it. Creasy loses traction right off the starting line and has to shut it down. Capps was on a very good run but hazes the tires a little past half-track.

Left Lane: Bob Gilbertson Runs 5.775/180.48, Now #13; Best prior run: 5.053/265.17, Was #13

Right Lane: Jerry Toliver Runs 4.988/298.54, Now #5; Best prior run: 4.958/287.35, Was #5
