CLERMONT, Ind. - Notes from round 5 qualifying in Pro Stock Truck at the 46th annual U.S. Nationals listing lane, driver name, elapsed time/top speed this round, position in order following run, best prior elapsed time/speed, and position in order prior to run:


Left Lane: Craig Eaton Runs 7.768/173.49, Now #22; Best prior run: 7.685/173.94, Was #22
Right Lane: Charles Greco Runs 7.706/174.91, Now #28; Best prior run: 7.722/174.55, Was #29

6:15 PM Tough hill to climb for those out of the field, the bump spot Todd Patterson's 7.669.

Left Lane: John Coughlin Runs 7.662/175.94, Now #7; Best prior run: 7.627/176.07, Was #7
Right Lane: Jeff Gracia Runs 7.666/175.55, Now #16; Best prior run: 7.677/175.64, Was #19

Gracia's truck did a dance on the launch and barely makes the field, replacing Patterson on the bubble.

Harris spun the tires hard on the launch and then broke. Whisnant made a very good pass for the conditions, only 0.002 seconds slower than his best.

Patterson does the impossible, getting back into the field with a clutch performance. Now the bump belongs to Lou Ficco at 7.663.

Right Lane: Larry Seay Runs 7.731/174.48, Now #11; Best prior run: 7.659/174.77, Was #11

Nice pass by Stanfield, only 0.005 slower than his best.

Right Lane: Larry Perkins Runs 7.703/173.94, Now #27; Best prior run: 7.702/174.14, Was #27

"Robbo" comes up just a few thousandths short of the bump time.

Right Lane: Mike Coughlin Runs 7.666/175.84, Now #1; Best prior run: 7.605/176.49, Was #1

Smith's truck did a dance on the launch, but he still outran Coughlin.

Final pair of a very uneventful round. Other than Gracia and Patterson's reciprocal bumping, not much changed.

That's it, Mike Coughlin meets Lou Ficco in the first round, 7.605 to 7.663.
