INDY - Pro Stock Motorcycle Qualifying Notes, Session #1

CLERMONT, Ind. - Notes from round 1 qualifying in Pro Stock Bike at the 46th annual U.S. Nationals listing lane, rider name, elapsed time, top speed, and position in order following run:

Left Lane: David Comforti Runs 19.149/36.98, Now #2
Right Lane: Horace Wright Runs 7.965/159.32, Now #1

6:33 PM-We begin with the bike session.

Left Lane: Lori Francis Runs 7.968/160.67, Now #3
Right Lane: Neil Jacobs Runs 7.737/171.84, Now #1

Early on the bikes seem soft but these are some new riders and those lower in the points.

Left Lane: Dan Baisley Runs 7.800/163.59, Now #3
Right Lane: Hector Arana Runs 7.672/169.17, Now #1

1.12 and 1.13 60 foot numbers. The Harley of Baisley makes his best ever.

Left Lane: Rob Short Runs 7.551/178.26, Now #1
Right Lane: Tom Bradford Runs 8.108/158.54, Now #7

Left Lane: Clarence Markham Runs 7.516/175.80, Now #1
Right Lane: Brian DeLong Runs 7.614/171.86, Now #3

Left Lane: C.J. Smith Runs 8.072/160.46, Now #10
Right Lane: Michael Phillips Runs 7.528/176.17, Now #2

Nice pass for Phillips.

Left Lane: Tony Mullen Runs 10.747/75.29, Now #14
Right Lane: Greg Underdahl Runs 7.547/171.90, Now #3

Right Lane: Angelle Seeling Runs 7.384/180.31, Now #1

Seeling moves to the top of the field. Showers broke on the burnout. Angelle had a .401 light for the reaction time contest.

Left Lane: Matt Hines Runs 7.364/178.24, Now #1
Right Lane: Joe DeSantis Runs 7.472/177.44, Now #3

Hines doesn't quite catch Angelle but does make a nice run. DeSantis runs well also.

Left Lane: Ron Ayers Runs 7.552/177.65, Now #9
Right Lane: Craig Treble Runs 7.429/178.85, Now #3

Treble gets off to a good start and lands in third.

Left Lane: Geno Scali Runs 7.550/178.45, Now #8
Right Lane: Mike Berry Runs 7.573/177.30, Now #11

Left Lane: Blaine Hale Runs 7.446/178.92, Now #5
Right Lane: Antron Brown Runs 7.324/182.70, Now #1

Antron Brown moves into the top spot with both low ET and top speed.

Left Lane: Brian Ayers Runs 7.619/173.49, Now #16
Right Lane: John Smith Runs 7.375/181.96, Now #3

Smith is filling in for Dave Schultz due to his health problems. Smith does a good job with his first pass and moves near the top.

Left Lane: Shawn Gann Runs 7.636/164.93, Now #17
Right Lane: Scott Cannon Runs 8.028/170.51, Now #23

No help for either rider.

Right Lane: Steve Johnson Runs 7.476/173.01, Now #8

The last bike of the session is Steve Johnson. He makes the top half of the field.
