DALLAS - Pro Stock Qualifying Notes, Session #1

ENNIS, Texas - Notes from round 1 qualifying in Pro Stock at the 16th annual O'Reilly Fall Nationals presented by Castrol Syntec listing lane, driver name, elapsed time, top speed, and position in order following run:


Left Lane: Tom Lee Runs 7.088/196.42, Now #1
Right Lane: Ed Heck Runs 7.139/193.54, Now #2

Lee making his NHRA debut here in Alan Johnson's second car.

Left Lane: Bo Nickens Runs 6.952/199.51, Now #1
Right Lane: Eric Shelton Runs 7.016/196.33, Now #2

Nickens bounced around off the starting line, but stayed with it.

Left Lane: Arturo Delgado Runs 7.009/197.58, Now #3
Right Lane: Kenny Koretsky Runs 6.965/198.63, Now #2



Left Lane: Hurley Blakeney Runs 6.963/199.15, Now #2
Right Lane: Mike Thomas Runs 10.739/84.12, Now #8

Blakeney with a good out of the box pass.

Left Lane: Tom Hammonds Runs 6.893/200.84, Now #1
Right Lane: John Nobile Runs 6.969/199.42, Now #5

Hammonds with a good looking pass, he had the quickest 60-foot time of the round, so far.

Left Lane: Allen Johnson Runs 7.006/197.88, Now #7
Right Lane: Rickie Smith Runs 6.956/198.50, Now #3



Left Lane: Richie Stevens Runs 6.959/198.36, Now #5
Right Lane: Troy Coughlin Runs 6.910/199.51, Now #2

Richie made a quick move toward the wall, but stayed with it for one of his better passes as of late. Coughlin with a good looking pass.

Left Lane: Larry Morgan Runs 6.942/199.77, Now #4
Right Lane: Greg Anderson Runs 6.940/198.85, Now #3

Greg Anderson is back after sitting out the Reading race. These two were glued together all the way down the track.

Left Lane: V. Gaines Runs 6.937/199.91, Now #3
Right Lane: Tom Martino Runs 6.953/199.73, Now #7

we now have a bump and Tom Lee holds on to that position.

Left Lane: George Marnell Runs 6.908/200.35, Now #2
Right Lane: Darrell Alderman Runs 6.931/199.11, Now #4

Marnell with the quickest 60-foot time of the round jumps into the number two spot with a good out of the box pass.

Left Lane: Brad Jeter Runs 6.937/199.46, Now #6
Right Lane: Ron Krisher No Time, Now #22

Krisher had some problems in the water box, but got the car fixed and did the burnout. He then shut it off after the burnout, apparently leaking something.

Left Lane: Mark Pawuk Runs 7.043/196.50, Now #20
Right Lane: Kurt Johnson Runs 6.955/199.64, Now #11

Pawuk continues to struggle, Kurt gets into the field with this shot.

Left Lane: Mark Osborne Runs 6.992/198.89, Now #18
Right Lane: Bruce Allen Runs 6.898/199.73, Now #2

A couple good 60-foot times here and Allen stretches that into a number two position. Osborne slowed on the top end.

Left Lane: Jeg Coughlin Runs 6.929/198.85, Now #6
Right Lane: Mike Edwards Runs 6.924/199.68, Now #5

These two are side-by-side through the 1320.

Left Lane: Jim Yates Runs 6.928/200.13, Now #6
Right Lane: Warren Johnson Runs 6.977/199.42, Now #21

Warren missed on this call. Yates' 60-foot time was not that impressive, but blasted on through to get into the top half of the show.

That wraps up round one with Hammonds in the number one spot and Rickie Smith rounding out the top 16.
