DALLAS - Pro Stock Qualifying Notes, Session #2

ENNIS, Texas - Notes from round 2 qualifying in Pro Stock at the 16th annual O'Reilly Fall Nationals presented by Castrol Syntec listing lane, driver name, elapsed time/top speed this round, position in order following run, best prior elapsed time/speed, and position in order prior to run:

Left Lane: Ron Krisher Runs 6.894/200.04, Now #2; No Prior Run
Right Lane: Tom Lee Runs 7.055/195.69, Now #28; Best prior run: 7.088/196.42, Was #27

Krisher with a great looking pass to jump into the number two spot. Lee made a move in the right direction, but not near enough.

Left Lane: Mike Thomas Runs 7.096/189.95, Now #29; Best prior run: 10.739/84.12, Was #30
Right Lane: Mark Pawuk Runs 7.020/195.52, Now #27; Best prior run: 7.043/196.50, Was #27

Thomas is able to get down the track and now has data to tune from for tomorrow. Pawuk with a slight improvement.

Left Lane: Ed Heck Runs 7.147/194.30, Now #30; Best prior run: 7.139/193.54, Was #30
Right Lane: Arturo Delgado Runs 6.966/197.23, Now #21; Best prior run: 7.009/197.58, Was #25

Heck was real loose around the 330 feet.

Left Lane: Eric Shelton Runs 7.161/195.14, Now #26; Best prior run: 7.016/196.33, Was #26
Right Lane: Allen Johnson Runs 23.738/42.97, Now #25; Best prior run: 7.006/197.88, Was #25

Johnson broke right off the starting line and coasted on through the quarter mile.

Left Lane: Warren Johnson Runs 6.891/200.53, Now #1; Best prior run: 6.977/199.42, Was #23
Right Lane: Mark Osborne Runs 6.901/200.26, Now #5; Best prior run: 6.992/198.89, Was #24

Both of these guys figured out their problems from round one and jump into the number one and five spots. WJ with the quickest 60-foot time of the round, so far.

Left Lane: John Nobile Runs 6.965/198.98, Now #22; Best prior run: 6.969/199.42, Was #24
Right Lane: Hurley Blakeney Runs 6.920/199.07, Now #8; Best prior run: 6.963/199.15, Was #21

Hurley made the big move here from the outside to the top half of the show. Nobile a move in the right direction, but enough.

Left Lane: Kenny Koretsky Runs 6.969/198.41, Now #23; Best prior run: 6.965/198.63, Was #23
Right Lane: Richie Stevens Runs 6.979/196.63, Now #21; Best prior run: 6.959/198.36, Was #21

No help for either of these two as they go in the wrong direction.

Left Lane: Rickie Smith Runs 6.935/198.57, Now #13; Best prior run: 6.956/198.50, Was #20
Right Lane: Bo Nickens Runs 6.966/199.24, Now #18; Best prior run: 6.952/199.51, Was #17

Smith was on the bump when this round started and then got bumped, but got back in with that pass.

Left Lane: Kurt Johnson Runs 6.900/200.17, Now #5; Best prior run: 6.955/199.64, Was #20
Right Lane: Larry Morgan Runs 6.942/199.51, Now #18; Best prior run: 6.942/199.77, Was #17

Kurt goes from the outside to the top half of the show. Morgan with an identical et from earlier today, and that will not help him.

Left Lane: Tom Martino Runs 6.898/200.26, Now #4; Best prior run: 6.953/199.73, Was #20
Right Lane: Brad Jeter Runs 6.918/199.51, Now #10; Best prior run: 6.937/199.46, Was #16

Martino with a great looking pass to get back into the show. Jeter got off the bubble with this pass.

Left Lane: Greg Anderson Runs 6.913/199.68, Now #10; Best prior run: 6.940/198.85, Was #18
Right Lane: V. Gaines Runs 6.926/199.24, Now #14; Best prior run: 6.937/199.91, Was #17

Both of these guys get back into the show and that bumped Alderman and Smith.

Left Lane: Darrell Alderman Runs 6.902/199.51, Now #8; Best prior run: 6.931/199.11, Was #17
Right Lane: Jeg Coughlin Runs 6.966/198.19, Now #17; Best prior run: 6.929/198.85, Was #16

Jeg goes in the wrong direction and gets bumped out as Alderman gets into the top half of the show.

Left Lane: Mike Edwards Runs 6.872/200.62, Now #1; Best prior run: 6.924/199.68, Was #14
Right Lane: Jim Yates Runs 6.888/199.68, Now #2; Best prior run: 6.928/200.13, Was #16

Yates used up all of his lane, but jumps into the number two spot. Edwards takes the number one spot with a nice pass.

Left Lane: Troy Coughlin Runs 6.887/200.98, Now #2; Best prior run: 6.910/199.51, Was #12
Right Lane: George Marnell Runs 6.895/199.77, Now #7; Best prior run: 6.908/200.35, Was #11

A couple 1.02 60-foot times here and Coughlin moved into the number two spot.

Left Lane: Bruce Allen Runs 6.878/200.35, Now #2; Best prior run: 6.898/199.73, Was #9
Right Lane: Tom Hammonds Runs 6.883/200.22, Now #3; Best prior run: 6.893/200.84, Was #5

This was a pretty good drag race and Allen took over the number two spot and Hammonds is right behind him.

That wraps up Pro Stock for today with Edwards on top and V. Gaines rounding out the top 16.
