Motel 6 'Who Got the Light' Award Update

GLENDORA, Calif. -- The following includes winners for the Motel 6 'Who Got the Light' margin of victory program. Motel 6 awards $1,000 to the individual Top Fuel, Funny Car or Pro Stock driver who earns a round win in eliminations by the narrowest margin at each NHRA Winston Drag Racing Series event in 2001, the NHRA's 50th anniversary season. The competitor with the overall narrowest margin of victory for the season will earn $25,000 from Motel 6 at the conclusion of the 2001 NHRA Winston Drag Racing Series.

AutoZone Winternationals, Pomona, Calif - Mike Edwards ($1,000) defeated Rickie Smith by 0.0009 of a second MOV in first round of Pro Stock eliminations.

Checker Schuck's Kragen Nationals presented by Pennzoil, Phoenix -- Warren Johnson ($1,000) defeated Brad Jeter by 0.0010 of a second MOV in the final round of Pro Stock eliminations.

Mac Tools NHRA Gatornationals, Gainesville, Fla. - Mark Osborne ($1,000) defeated Mark Pawuk by 0.0046 of a second MOV in round two of Pro Stock.

O'Reilly Nationals presented by Pennzoil, Houston -- Warren Johnson ($1,000) defeated Bruce Allen by 0.0025 of a second MOV in the semifinals of Pro Stock.

SummitRacing.com NHRA Nationals, Las Vegas -- Whit Bazemore ($1,000) defeated Bruce Sarver by 0.0041 of a second MOV in the semifinals of Funny Car.

Mac Tools NHRA Thunder Valley Nationals, Bristol, Tenn. - Greg Anderson ($1,000) defeated Jim Yates by 0.0057 of a second MOV in the final round of Pro Stock.

Advance Auto Parts NHRA Southern Nationals, Commerce, Ga. - Mark Osborne ($1,000) defeated Warren Johnson by 0.0039 of a second MOV in round one of Pro Stock.

Matco Tools Supernationals presented by Racing Champions, Englishtown, N.J. - Tony Pedregon ($1,000) defeated Bruce Sarver by 0.0005 of a second MOV in round two of Funny Car.

Advance Auto Parts NHRA Nationals, Topeka, Kan. - Ron Krisher ($1,000) defeated V. Gaines by 0.0008 of a second MOV in the semifinals of Pro Stock.

Lucas Oil Products NHRA Nationals, Joliet, Ill. - Doug Kalitta ($1,000) defeated David Grubnic by 0.0054 of a second MOV in round one of Top Fuel.

Pontiac Excitement NHRA Nationals presented by Summit Racing, Columbus, Ohio - Johnny Gray ($1,000) defeated Dean Skuza by 0.0105 of a second MOV in round two of Funny Car.

Sears Craftsman NHRA Nationals, Madison, Ill. - Bruce Allen ($1,000) defeated V. Gaines by 0.0002 of a second MOV in round one of Pro Stock.

Pep Boys NHRA 50th Anniversary Nationals presented by American Racing Wheels, Pomona, Calif. - V. Gaines ($1,000) defeated Warren Johnson by 0.0019 of a second MOV in round one of Pro Stock.

Mopar Parts Mile-High Nationals, Denver -- Jim Yates ($1,000) defeated Brad Jeter by 0.0000 of a second MOV in round one of Pro Stock.**

AutoZone Nationals, Memphis, Tenn. -- Jeg Coughlin Jr. ($1,000) defeated Rickie Smith by 0.0015 of a second MOV in the semifinals of Pro Stock.

NHRA Nationals, Joliet, Ill. -- Warren Johnson ($1,000) defeated Brad Jeter by 0.0091 of a second MOV in round two of Pro Stock.

Pep Boys NHRA Nationals, Reading, Pa. -- Kenny Bernstein ($1,000) defeated Larry Dixon by 0.0065 of a second MOV in round two of Top Fuel.
