Left Lane: Jason Collins Runs 6.676/208.81, Now #5; Best prior run: 6.697/207.85, Was #10
Right Lane: Anthony Paone Runs 6.879/200.57, Now #18; Best prior run: 6.938/200.08, Was #18
6:43 PM The bump is Chris Holbrook's 6.862 and Paone bumps Holbrook. Now it's Chuck Demory, at 6.842.
Left Lane: Tim Nabors Runs 14.016/58.30, Now #14; Best prior run: 6.766/204.45, Was #13
Right Lane: Bob Holzer Runs 6.673/206.42, Now #5; Best prior run: 6.802/203.80, Was #14
Nabors turned right on the launch and had to abandon the run. Holzer steps up nicely, away from the bump spot.
Left Lane: Chris Holbrook Runs 6.865/201.56, Now #17; Best prior run: 6.862/200.80, Was #17
Right Lane: Tim Bell Runs 8.425/104.22, Now #19; Best prior run: 6.996/197.23, Was #19
Holbrook fails to qualify, but it's not for lack of trying. His car was very loose and he stayed with it to complete the run.
Left Lane: Carl Baker Runs 6.687/206.42, Now #10; Best prior run: 6.702/205.43, Was #12
Right Lane: Angelo Alesci Runs 6.761/204.26, Now #13; Best prior run: 6.753/205.33, Was #13
Left Lane: Dwayne Rice Runs 6.648/207.70, Now #2; Best prior run: 6.633/207.70, Was #2
Right Lane: Wally Stroupe Runs 6.771/204.63, Now #15; Best prior run: 13.244/63.49, Was #22
Stroupe gets in, bumping Demory, and Rice drives through a very loose condition, the car really wagging its tail. Now the bump is David Jenkins' 6.811.
Left Lane: Gene Wilson Runs 11.234/76.49, Now #12; Best prior run: 6.693/207.94, Was #12
Right Lane: Jon Yoak Runs 6.673/208.57, Now #5; Best prior run: 6.678/208.67, Was #7
Wilson was also all over the lane, calling it quits. Yoak made a nice run, straight and smooth.
Left Lane: Ron Miller Runs 6.654/208.38, Now #1; Best prior run: 6.625/208.42, Was #1
Right Lane: Steve Spiess Runs 6.657/208.52, Now #4; Best prior run: 6.660/208.81, Was #4
Miller built the engines for both these cars. They run almost identical laps, but Miller's car was straight and smooth, Spiess' was very loose.
Left Lane: Rocky Watford Runs 6.866/199.07, Now #19; Best prior run: 7.416/150.77, Was #21
Right Lane: Chuck Demory Runs 6.813/202.70, Now #17; Best prior run: 6.842/202.70, Was #17
Demory misses the field by 0.002 seconds.
Left Lane: John Konigshofer Runs 6.703/207.70, Now #11; Best prior run: 6.690/207.03, Was #11
Right Lane: David Jenkins Runs 6.800/203.66, Now #16; Best prior run: 6.811/205.71, Was #16
Konigshofer was also all over the lane, his car very tail-happy. Jenkins made a good run to improve a bit, but not enough to get off the bubble.
Left Lane: Tom Lee Runs 6.626/209.74, Now #2; Best prior run: 8.412/108.32, Was #22
Right Lane: John Montecalvo Runs 6.657/208.28, Now #6; Best prior run: 6.686/207.18, Was #9
Lee's time earlier today would have put him in the field, but the car was light at the scales. He gets back in here, with a vengeance, and Montecalvo moves back up the ladder on a good run of his own.
That bumps Demory - now Wally Stroupe is on the bubble at 6.771.

Right Lane: Floyd Cheek Runs 9.575/91.64, Now #10; Best prior run: 6.683/206.94, Was #10
Stroupe is safe, these two both already in the field. Cheek's car very loose and headed for the centerline before he pulled the plug, while Yeoman made another good run. That closes qualifying for these folks with Ron Miller on the pole at 6.625.
