FMDRS 3-6 - Federal-Mogul Funny Car Qualifying Notes, Session #1
By Dave Gerard

INDIANAPOLIS - Notes from round 1 qualifying in Federal-Mogul Funny Car at the NHRA Division 3 Federal-Mogul Drag Racing Series Final listing lane, driver name, elapsed time, top speed, and position in order following run:

Left Lane: Jeff Lancaster Runs 6.698/209.20, Now #2
Right Lane: Marc White Runs 5.755/247.51, Now #1

5:43 PM After a great session in FM Dragster we should see some big number for the Funny Cars. A little tire spin and a bit of rear end swing for both cars. White picks it up and makes a clean pass to the finish. Lancaster slows and stops on the track after the lights.

Left Lane: Chuck Cheeseman Runs 5.855/246.98, Now #2
Right Lane: Jeff Craig Runs 6.002/241.67, Now #3

Cheeseman pulls away quickly and runs into the number 2 spot. Craig make a clean run and has a good MPH for his effort.

Left Lane: Steve Addleman Runs 5.948/242.32, Now #3
Right Lane: Kim Fritts Runs 5.995/238.41, Now #4

Addleman makes a good run to the lights, but pays for it. Lots of smoke from the headers, as he goes into the MPH start lights. Fritts is loose off the line and moves around a lot until mid-track. Looks like a big mess for Addleman , as we were down for almost 20 minutes for track clean up.
