BAYTOWN, Texas - Notes from round 2 qualifying in Pro Stock Bike at the 3rd annual Matco Tools SuperNationals presented by Racing Champions listing lane, rider name, elapsed time/top speed this round, position in order following run, best prior elapsed time/speed, and position in order prior to run:
Left Lane: Brian Ayers Runs 7.446/181.18, Now #13; Best prior run: 7.620/177.44, Was #18
Right Lane: Steve Johnson Runs 7.384/188.62, Now #7; Best prior run: 7.448/181.98, Was #12

6:05 PM and the bikes are back for round two of qualifying. Both riders move up in the field here.

Left Lane: Matt Hines Runs 7.179/186.10, Now #1; Best prior run: 7.259/185.36, Was #3
Right Lane: Brian DeLong Runs 7.528/178.50, Now #15; Best prior run: 7.513/180.50, Was #15

If Hines can back it up, he just set a new ET record.

Left Lane: Fred Camarena Runs 7.486/177.42, Now #15; Best prior run: 7.496/175.52, Was #14
Right Lane: Larry Cook Runs 7.341/181.45, Now #6; No Prior Run

Cook puts his bike in the show after having problems in the 1st round.

Left Lane: Reggie Showers Runs 7.451/177.44, Now #15; No Prior Run
Right Lane: Ron Ayers Runs 7.421/183.94, Now #11; Best prior run: 7.443/178.80, Was #13

Showers is in, but just barely.

Left Lane: Greg Underdahl Runs 7.487/180.12, Now #12; Best prior run: 7.432/182.16, Was #12
Right Lane: Joe DeSantis Runs 7.454/183.49, Now #10; Best prior run: 7.419/183.44, Was #10

No help for either rider here.

Right Lane: Craig Treble Runs 7.318/186.48, Now #6; Best prior run: 7.432/179.73, Was #13

Hale broke a chain at 100'.

Collis resets the track speed record on this run.

Solid runs by both riders.

Feazell's 1st round effort was the quickest pass by a Pro Stock Harley in history. On this one, it sounded like he didn't have enough clutch in the bike.

Right Lane: John Smith Runs 7.356/184.45, Now #8; Best prior run: 7.356/180.00, Was #8

No help for either rider here.

Left Lane: Hector Arana Runs 7.494/179.76, Now #18; Best prior run: 7.570/181.37, Was #21

Arana improves, but not enough to make the show. After two rounds of Pro Stock Motorcycle qualifying, Matt Hines is on the pole with a potential National Record ET of 7.179, and Reggie Showers rounds out the top sixteen with a 7.451 ET.
