HOUSTON - Pro Stock Bike Qualifying Notes, Session #1

BAYTOWN, Texas - Notes from round 1 qualifying in Pro Stock Bike at the 3rd annual Matco Tools SuperNationals presented by Racing Champions listing lane, rider name, elapsed time, top speed, and position in order following run:
Left Lane: David Feazell Runs 7.696/169.04, Now #1
Right Lane: Lori Francis Runs 7.974/159.80, Now #2

1:40 PM and the bikes are ready to make their 1st qualifying runs of the weekend. We start the session with a pair of Harleys.

Left Lane: John Smith Runs 7.356/180.00, Now #1
Right Lane: Hector Arana Runs 7.570/181.37, Now #2

Arana moved toward the centerline at 100', but was able to bring it back into the groove.

Left Lane: Steve Johnson Runs 7.448/181.98, Now #2
Right Lane: Brian Ayers Runs 7.620/177.44, Now #4

Johnson is stil racing with Rick Ward horsepower.

Left Lane: Brian DeLong Runs 7.513/180.50, Now #4
Right Lane: Matt Hines Runs 7.259/185.36, Now #1

Hines takes a ride straight down the track to the top qualifying spot, so far.

Left Lane: Larry Cook No Time, Now #10
Right Lane: Fred Camarena Runs 7.496/175.52, Now #4

Cook broke on the line.

Left Lane: Ron Ayers Runs 7.443/178.80, Now #3
Right Lane: Reggie Showers No Time, Now #12

Showers was shut off at the line, fluid leaking from his engine.

Left Lane: Joe DeSantis Runs 7.419/183.44, Now #3
Right Lane: Greg Underdahl Runs 7.432/182.16, Now #4

Solid runs by both riders.

Left Lane: Bruce Dickson Runs 9.723/105.73, Now #14
Right Lane: Blaine Hale Runs 7.555/179.37, Now #9

Dickson bogged down on the launch, never got it up to full power.

Left Lane: Craig Treble Runs 7.432/179.73, Now #6
Right Lane: Tony Mullen Runs 7.397/184.95, Now #3

Strong runs for both riders.

Left Lane: Gary Tonglet Runs 7.620/173.94, Now #15
Right Lane: Fred Collis Runs 7.316/183.00, Now #2

Collins, Angelle Seeling's teammate for the final three events of this season, jumps into the number two spot, for now.

Left Lane: Chris Reuter Runs 7.596/175.09, Now #15
Right Lane: Antron Brown Runs 7.234/184.85, Now #1

Brown, with a very quick lap, moves to the top of the ladder here.

Left Lane: Angelle Seeling Runs 7.248/182.87, Now #2
Right Lane: David Schultz Runs 7.273/185.20, Now #4

A pair of stout runs here to end the round. Antron Brown is on the pole with a track record 7.234 ET, and Hector Arana is on the bump with a 7.570 ET.
