It sounded like Trumble's tranny wouldn't shift, the engine going up hard against the rev limiter here. Anderson's Olds certainly looked quicker than the numbers indicated this time.

These guys need to better Gillig's 7.049... and they do, bumping Gillig and Thomas in the process. So the bump is now Marnell's 7.031, but don't look for that to last long.

Nobile moves up and Gaines moves in, bumping Marnell and moving Yates' 7.026 onto the bubble.

Worden was quicker to 60' and 330' than Franks, then moves left out of the groove and lifts rather than leaving paint on the guardwall.

I knew WJ was on a lap when I saw his 1.01 60' time pop up, and sure enough he moves right to the head of the pack here. Schmidt moves right in behind Edwards, a fine run, too.

Klein gets a solid run and bumps Yates, so that leaves V. Gaines in danger. The weather forecast is calling for cool temps tomorrow morning, too, so these guys may have a second chance this weekend.

The Summit Firebird backfires as Pawuk tries to fire the car, and the crew rushes to put out the resulting fire. It did enough damage to the hood scoop that they won't run this lap.

The shift light came on in Randy Jones' car as soon as he left the line and stayed on until he took his foot off the gas... and that was a long time.

Both cars turned left, and fortunately they did it at different points on the track, otherwise they would be looking for someone with fiberglass repair experience, here. I missed the times, but trust me, they were slow.
