JOLIET, Ill. - Notes from round 3 qualifying in Pro Stock at the Inaugural NHRA Nationals listing lane, driver name, elapsed time/top speed this round, position in order following run, best prior elapsed time/speed, and position in order prior to run:

Left Lane: John Nobile Runs 7.216/191.24, Now #26; Best prior run: 6.950/200.00, Was #26
Right Lane: Kevin Lawrence Runs 7.025/195.65, Now #29; Best prior run: 7.046/195.62, Was #29

Under sunny skies with the temperature around 62 degrees, humidity is 62% and the barometer is 30.40 inches. Nobile spun the tires off the starting line. Lawrence made a move toward the wall and turns in his best pass of the weekend.

Left Lane: Larry Peternel Runs 17.226/45.92, Now #32; Best prior run: 7.141/192.88, Was #31
Right Lane: Greg Anderson Runs 6.828/201.19, Now #3; Best prior run: 7.868/129.60, Was #33

Anderson with a career best et to get in the show.

Left Lane: Steve Spiess Runs 7.093/193.05, Now #31; Best prior run: 7.104/191.92, Was #31
Right Lane: Mike Weinle Runs 7.024/196.64, Now #29; Best prior run: 7.016/196.90, Was #29

Spiess with his best pass of the weekend, but is not even close.

Left Lane: Hurley Blakeney Runs 6.863/200.50, Now #13; Best prior run: 6.893/199.49, Was #19
Right Lane: Bo Nickens Runs 6.937/199.08, Now #27; Best prior run: 8.750/109.80, Was #34

Hurley with his career best pass and the first time he has run 200 mph in a Pro Stock.

Left Lane: Mike Edwards Runs 6.825/201.37, Now #3; Best prior run: 6.879/200.41, Was #19
Right Lane: Mark Osborne Runs 6.809/202.39, Now #1; Best prior run: 6.828/201.70, Was #2

A couple of great passes here. Osborne with a career best et and mph pass. Edwards goes from outside of the show to the number three spot.

Left Lane: Tom Martino Runs 6.841/201.70, Now #6; Best prior run: 6.853/201.13, Was #10
Right Lane: Robert Patrick Runs 6.870/200.53, Now #15; Best prior run: 6.863/200.14, Was #15

Martino with his career best et and mph pass to get into the top half of the show. No help for Patrick.

Left Lane: Eric Shelton Runs 7.236/194.83, Now #34; Best prior run: 7.260/193.13, Was #34
Right Lane: Tom Hammonds Runs 6.860/201.10, Now #13; Best prior run: 6.899/200.47, Was #21

Hammonds with his career et and mph pass to get in the show.

Left Lane: Ron Krisher Runs 6.863/200.74, Now #15; Best prior run: 6.867/200.77, Was #19
Right Lane: Kenny Koretsky Runs 10.261/87.19, Now #26; Best prior run: 6.933/198.15, Was #26

Krisher gets in the show based on his faster mph. That makes three cars with a 6.863 seconds et, two of them in the show and Patrick is out.

Left Lane: Rickie Smith Runs 6.932/199.08, Now #26; Best prior run: 6.974/198.09, Was #29
Right Lane: Richie Stevens Runs 6.956/198.38, Now #25; Best prior run: 6.912/197.94, Was #25

Stevens goes in the wrong direction. Smith with his best pass of weekend, but not near enough.

Left Lane: Ray Franks Runs 6.919/198.76, Now #22; Best prior run: 6.899/198.85, Was #22
Right Lane: Larry Nance Runs 6.927/198.32, Now #24; Best prior run: 6.907/198.79, Was #24

Both of these guys go in the wrong direction.

Left Lane: Tony Gillig Runs 6.891/199.29, Now #21; Best prior run: 6.901/199.26, Was #23
Right Lane: Allen Johnson Runs 6.910/200.02, Now #22; Best prior run: 6.898/200.02, Was #21

Gillig with the quickest 60-foot time of the round with a 0.997 seconds and a career best et and mph pass, but does not make the cut. Johnson made a quick move toward the centerline.

Left Lane: Mark Pawuk Runs 6.857/200.47, Now #12; Best prior run: 6.865/199.17, Was #18
Right Lane: Jeg Coughlin Runs 6.876/200.08, Now #19; Best prior run: 6.866/200.35, Was #19

Neither of the Mail Order teams not in the show right now. Well make that one, Pawuk gets in the show and Jeg will miss the show with one more shot.

Left Lane: Larry Morgan Runs 6.829/201.22, Now #5; Best prior run: 6.876/201.04, Was #20
Right Lane: George Marnell Runs 6.842/201.01, Now #8; Best prior run: 6.861/200.02, Was #15

Morgan with a career best et pass here to get into the top half of the show. Marnell gets into the top half of the show.

Left Lane: Darrell Alderman Runs 6.821/202.21, Now #3; Best prior run: 6.853/201.55, Was #12
Right Lane: Warren Johnson Runs 6.835/201.82, Now #7; Best prior run: 6.859/200.92, Was #15

Alderman with the quickest 60-foot time 0.992 seconds and a career best et pass here. Warren moves into the top half of the show.

Left Lane: Jim Yates Runs 6.805/201.37, Now #1; Best prior run: 6.854/200.32, Was #14
Right Lane: Bruce Allen Runs 6.824/201.25, Now #5; Best prior run: 6.851/200.41, Was #13

Yates with a 0.999 60-foot time and stretched it into a 6.805 for an et national record if can hold on to it that will be 20 extra points. Allen with a career mph pass and moved into the top half of the show.

Left Lane: Brad Jeter Runs 6.835/201.37, Now #10; Best prior run: 6.845/200.56, Was #13
Right Lane: V. Gaines Runs 6.838/201.31, Now #11; Best prior run: 6.851/200.68, Was #14

Jeter with a career et and mph pass here and Gaines with his career et pass.

Left Lane: Troy Coughlin Runs 6.819/201.73, Now #4; Best prior run: 6.839/200.95, Was #12
Right Lane: Kurt Johnson Runs 6.801/202.70, Now #1; Best prior run: 6.815/201.58, Was #3

Both cars with a 1.000-second 60-foot times, and Kurt turned that into the quickest and fastest pass ever and those are both national records for now. Troy is back into the top half of the show. those were both career et and mph passes for these guys. Hammonds holds on to the number 16 spot with a 6.860 second pass.
