MILLINGTON, Tenn. - Notes from round 3 qualifying in Pro Stock at the 14th annual AutoZone NHRA Nationals presented by Pennzoil listing lane, driver name, elapsed time/top speed this round, position in order following run, best prior elapsed time/speed, and position in order prior to run:

Left Lane: David Strouse Jr. Runs 6.963/197.28, Now #20; Best prior run: 6.978/196.93, Was #23
Right Lane: Kenny Koretsky Runs 8.378/11.86, Now #32; Best prior run: 7.083/195.51, Was #32

Under sunny skies with the temperature already around 78 degrees, humidity 69% and the barometer is 30.09 inches.

Strouse with his best pass of the weekend, but not near enough.

Left Lane: Mike Weinle Runs 8.449/118.31, Now #33; Best prior run: 7.205/192.85, Was #33
Right Lane: V. Gaines Runs 7.008/197.36, Now #27; Best prior run: 7.006/191.43, Was #27

Weinle was real loose right off the starting line. Gaines skated all the way down the track.

Left Lane: Brad Klein Runs 7.053/194.27, Now #31; Best prior run: 7.053/194.46, Was #31
Right Lane: Larry Morgan Runs 6.931/199.05, Now #8; Best prior run: 6.949/198.61, Was #14

Morgan goes into the top half of the field.

Left Lane: Richie Stevens Runs 7.008/196.47, Now #29; Best prior run: 7.030/195.05, Was #29
Right Lane: Jim Cunningham Runs 7.335/190.67, Now #34; Best prior run: 7.238/190.92, Was #34

Left Lane: Greg Thomas Runs 7.143/192.77, Now #28; Best prior run: 7.007/196.59, Was #28
Right Lane: Danny Coffman Runs 7.019/196.10, Now #30; Best prior run: 7.051/194.74, Was #30

Both cars made quick moves to the right off the starting line and never could get it to hook up.

Left Lane: Barry Grant Runs 8.707/110.43, Now #25; Best prior run: 6.982/196.33, Was #24
Right Lane: Troy Coughlin Runs 6.958/198.70, Now #19; Best prior run: 6.987/197.74, Was #25

Troy made a move in the right direction, but not enough.

Left Lane: Allen Johnson Runs 6.994/196.42, Now #24; Best prior run: 6.966/197.42, Was #24
Right Lane: John Nobile Runs 7.028/197.57, Now #26; Best prior run: 6.991/197.80, Was #26

Yesterday was the first time Nobile had this new Cavalier on the track, so he is still sorting out the new car. He went the wrong direction here.

Left Lane: Bruce Allen Runs 6.928/198.35, Now #8; Best prior run: 6.948/197.86, Was #13
Right Lane: Darrell Alderman Runs 13.975/59.69, Now #20; Best prior run: 6.961/199.40, Was #20

Allen with a good pass here.

Left Lane: Rickie Smith Runs 6.947/19.50, Now #14; Best prior run: 6.964/197.36, Was #23
Right Lane: Ron Krisher Runs 6.915/199.37, Now #2; Best prior run: 6.944/198.32, Was #12

Krisher now holds the second longest consecutive qualifying streak made the big jump here and look at the top end speed. Rickie gets the second Yates' team car in the show for now.

Left Lane: Tom Martino Runs 6.947/198.38, Now #14; Best prior run: 6.952/198.15, Was #18
Right Lane: Tony Gillig Runs 13.975/55.54, Now #23; Best prior run: 6.963/196.93, Was #23

Gillig was real loose right off the starting line. Martino did some skating around, but held on to get in the show for now.

Left Lane: Brad Jeter Runs 6.925/198.85, Now #6; Best prior run: 6.951/198.41, Was #18
Right Lane: Mike Thomas Runs 12.852/82.63, Now #19; Best prior run: 6.955/197.08, Was #19

Thomas with a lot tire spin right off the starting line and he clicked it off. Jeter with a nice pass as he goes from outside the show to the top half of the field.

Left Lane: George Marnell Runs 6.920/198.76, Now #4; Best prior run: 6.924/198.73, Was #5
Right Lane: Greg Anderson Runs 6.967/198.29, Now #14; Best prior run: 6.947/198.82, Was #14

It is the Marnell team cars here and the boss with a real nice looking pass while Anderson fell off pace.

Left Lane: Mark Pawuk Runs 6.996/196.59, Now #13; Best prior run: 6.932/198.44, Was #12
Right Lane: Mike Edwards Runs 6.918/199.35, Now #3; Best prior run: 6.949/198.20, Was #18

Pawuk made a move toward the centerline. Edwards with a great pass straight down Broadway from outside the show to the number three spot.

Left Lane: Tom Hammonds Runs 6.919/198.79, Now #4; Best prior run: 6.927/198.70, Was #10
Right Lane: Ray Franks Runs 7.019/197.74, Now #18; Best prior run: 6.948/197.36, Was #18

Hammonds with the big improvement here.

Left Lane: Mark Osborne Runs 6.914/199.76, Now #2; Best prior run: 6.926/199.23, Was #10
Right Lane: Kurt Johnson Runs 9.945/92.30, Now #14; Best prior run: 6.940/198.61, Was #14

Johnson with a lot of tire spin right off the starting line and never got it to hook up. Osborne with the big top end charge to jump into the number two spot.

Left Lane: Robert Patrick Runs 6.987/197.57, Now #10; Best prior run: 6.925/197.86, Was #10
Right Lane: Jeg Coughlin Runs 6.985/198.12, Now #8; Best prior run: 6.920/198.32, Was #8

Patrick was loose on the starting line a skated around in the middle of the track, too. No help for Jeg.

Left Lane: Jim Yates Runs 6.883/198.85, Now #1; Best prior run: 6.894/198.85, Was #1
Right Lane: Warren Johnson Runs 6.940/199.73, Now #6; Best prior run: 6.920/198.99, Was #6

Yates continues to dominate here this weekend with three quickest passes of the weekend after three rounds of qualifying. No help here for Warren.
