Darlington Dragway Shines at IHRA Division 2 Summit Team Finals Championship

Darlington Dragway had a 1-2 finish amongst itself in the International Hot Rod Association (IHRA)
Division 2 (Heat Wave) Summit Team Finals last weekend at Carolina Dragway.
Entering two teams in the competition, the Darlington team No. 1 finished with 48 points and
Darlington No. 2 was right behind with 45 points. Teams from the host Carolina Dragway, Dorchester
Dragway and Ware Shoals Dragway also participated.
Leading up to the main event, racers participated in Gambler's races and "best of" awards.
Robert Anderson from Darlington Dragway won on a holeshot with a .010 reaction time to go along
with a 4.906-second run on a 4.87 dial-in. His final-round opponent, Jimmy Carroll from Ware
Shoals, posted a 7.263-second pass against a 7.23 dial-in after a .031 reaction time.
Josh Carroll, representing Dorchester Dragway, raced to the win by matching his 6.83 dial-in time
along with a .073 reaction time. Corey Smith from Cherokee Dragway red-lighted and then went down
the track on a 6.88-second pass against a 6.81 dial-in.
Devin Smith from Darlington Dragway took the victory going 7.929 seconds against a 7.90 dial-in.
Smith also had a slightly quicker reaction time .049 to .061 for runner-up Kaylee Miller from Union
County Dragway, who posted a time of 8.025 seconds with a 7.97 dial-in.
Team Captains Race
Darlington Dragway took honors with a 9.99-second run against a 9.97 dial-in, paired with a .015
reaction time. Carolina Dragway red-lighted before a 9.802-second pass against a 9.90 dial-in.
Thursday's Gambler's Race
Top - Joel Hubbard II (Darlington) 4.611 on a 4.60 dial-in, .006 reaction time defeated Stephen
Peeler (Ware Shoals) 5.943 on a 5.91 dial-in, .014 reaction time.
Junior - Brooke Miller (Darlington) 7.919 on a 7.90 dial-in, .047 reaction time defeated
Conner McGee (Carolina) 8.965 on an 8.92 dial-in, .041 reaction time
Friday's Gambler's Race
Top - Joe Gary (Carolina) 20.036 on a 4.49 dial-in, .0576 reaction time defeated Shannon
Rivers (Darlington) 6.218 on a 6.22 dial-in, -.006 reaction time.
Mod - Mike Kyzer (Darlington) 6.956 on a 6.55 dial-in, .032 reaction time defeated Cody
Oxner (Ware Shoals) 6.605 on a 6.61 dial-in, -.005 reaction time.
Junior - Harrison Crawford (Carolina) 8.127 on an 8.13 dial-in, .008 reaction time defeated
