Millican, Capps and Laughlin Take Home Wallys at the NHRA Thunder Valley Nationals

BRISTOL, Tenn. -- Clay Millican piloted his Parts Plus / Great Clips dragster to his first career Top Fuel victory Sunday at the 17th annual NHRA Thunder Valley Nationals at Bristol Dragway.

Ron Capps (Funny Car) and Alex Laughlin (Pro Stock) were also winners in their respective categories at the 11th event of 24 on the NHRA Mello Yello Drag Racing Series schedule.

Clay Millican, 3.825 seconds, 316.38 mph defeated Leah Pritchett, 3.881 seconds, 307.09 mph.

This is Millican's first NHRA Top Fuel victory. It was his ninth career final round appearance. Millican is a Tennessee native.

Ron Capps, Dodge Charger, 4.054 seconds, 317.05 mph def. Jack Beckman, Charger, 4.040 seconds, 319.29 mph

This is Capps' fifth win of the season, 55th of his career and fourth at Bristol Dragway. He is the defending Funny Car world champion.

Alex Laughlin, Chevy Camaro, 6.718 seconds, 205.04 mph defeated Bo Butner, Camaro, 6.729 seconds, 205.79 mph.

This is Laughlin's second career win, first of the season. His last finals appearance was at the 2016 Dallas event. Laughlin had a perfect .000 reaction time on the starting line.
