BAYTOWN, Texas - Results of round 1 eliminations in Pro Stock at the NHRA Mello Yello Drag Racing Series, 27th annual O'Reilly NHRA SpringNationals presented by Super Start Batteries:

   13 Jonathan Gray                           7 V. Gaines

Weather conditions: air temperature 78 degrees, relative humidity 76 percent, barometer 29.62 inches, adjusted altitude 2,517 feet, track temperature 110 degrees.

This is the first time Gray and Gaines have faced each other in eliminations. Gray with the starting line advantage and the power to hold on for the hole shot. This is his first round win. Jonathan Gray's MOV: 0.0585 seconds (approximately 18 feet).

Greg Anderson makes his return after sitting out the first five races of the year following heart surgery and he will resume action against his arch rival, Jeg Coughlin..This will be the 20th meeting between the two in round one races with Greg holding a slim 10 - 9 advantage in their previous encounters...Both Greg and Jeg have won this event twice. Anderson is 41 - 33 against Coughlin in prior events. A couple great light with Coughlin leaving first and he never trailed for the win.

Nobile is 7 - 2 against Morgan in prior events. Morgan is too quick on the tree and turned on the red light. Nobile with a good looking pass for the easy win...

Alan Johnson starts from the top spot for the 32nd time in his career. He is an impressive 29 -2 in round one when starting from the # position..Greg Stanfield has won four times (in 9 tries) when starting 16th and that's a very good percentage for any driver starting from the last spot in the field. Stanfield with a big starting line advantage, but Johnson had the horsepower to chase him down around 800 feet. Johnson with the quickest pass of the day for the win. Allen Johnson's incremental times: 60ft-0.991 sec., 330ft-2.767, 660ft-4.241/167.68 mph, 1,000ft-5.511. Allen Johnson's MOV: 0.0398 seconds (approximately 12 feet). Johnson will have lane choice over Jonathan Gray in the next round.
