BAYTOWN, Texas - Results of round 2 eliminations in Top Alcohol Funny Car at the NHRA Mello Yello Drag Racing Series, 27th annual O'Reilly NHRA SpringNationals presented by Super Start Batteries:

Westerfield with the bye and has a lot of tire shake right at the hit and clicks it off.

This is the first time Januik and Gasparrelli have faced each other in eliminations. Januik with the starting line advantage and never trailed for the win. Nick Januik's MOV: 0.0834 seconds (approximately 32 feet). He is just a few ticks off his qualifying time and will have lane choice in the semifinals against Westerfield.

This is the first time Harker and Brand have faced each other in eliminations. Brand with the starting line advantage and the win light. Dale Brand's MOV: 0.1013 seconds (approximately 39 feet). Brand with his quickest pass of the weekend for the win.

This is the first time Whiteley and Veney have faced each other in eliminations. Not sure if the car just rolled the beam or what happened, but Veney turned on the red light. Whiteley with the quickest pass of the round for the win and she will lane choice over Brand in the next round.
