E1 ****WINNER**** 0.046 6.295 228.27 0.090 6.342 222.00
 Qualified: #5 6.430 226.66 #4 6.353 210.28
12:33 p.m. Weather conditions: air temperature 80 degrees, relative humidity 75 percent, barometer 29.63 inches, adjusted altitude 2,607 feet, track temperature 109 degrees.

Grimes led this one all the way, steadily opening the gap. He matched low ET of the event for the win.

111 Mike Scott 1059 Brian Jernigan
E1 0.060 6.481 190.59 ****WINNER**** 0.057 6.410 225.15
 Qualified: #3 6.325 228.04 #6 6.520 213.70
Two more full passes...almost dead-even at the start and Scott pulled out to a small lead by half track, but then he started to lose ground and Jernigan went by for the win, making his quickest run of the event.

Brian Jernigan's incremental margins (negative if behind): 60ft(-0.004), 330 ft(-0.030), 660ft(-0.040), 1,000ft(-0.019). MOV: 0.0748 seconds (approximately 21 feet).

63 Jay Turner 888 Damian Cownden
E1 ****WINNER**** 0.054 6.279 222.51 0.071 6.494 217.18

These two are usually pretty closely matched, but Turner had the better light and the better bike today, winning easily. He will have lane choice against Jernigan in the semifinals.

204 Randal Andras 583 Julian Seaman
E1 ****WINNER**** 0.056 6.410 223.28 0.049 10.562 152.85

Seaman spun the tire and the engine almost stalled on the launch. Andras made his slowest run of the event, but it was uncontested. However, he will not have lane choice against Grimes in the semifinals.
