Terry Haddock is on the bump spot at 4.575.

Yesterday, Downing spun the tires and Diehl appeared to break the throttle cable.
Both drivers got down the track today, both got in the field (for now) and they almost met at thew finish line, Diehl close to the line on the top half of his run and Downing's car making a hard move to the left as he neared the stripe.
Both stayed in their own lane, both runs are legal, bumping Haddock and Phil Burkhart from the field.
Now Josh Crawford is on the bump spot at 4.441.

These two ran as a pair yesterday and both smoked the tires.

These two also smoked their tires yesterday.
Lots of smoke on the top end - looked like a bunch of pistons were sacrificed. Bode's smoke was before the stripe, Wilkerson's was after. IN the slow-motion replay, there was a flash of flame from the vicinity of Bode's supercharger with about 200 feet to go.

Wilkerson bumped Grant Downing from the field, putting Del Worsham on the bump spot at 4.186.

Two more day-one tire-smokers and two more good runs, Cruz going to the #2 spot, Tony closer to the bump at 10th.
That bumped Worsham and Jeff Arend from the field, putting Ron Capps on the bump spot at 4.146.

Almost every car that's come up in this session has bumped into the field, and we are still several pairs of cars from getting to the "already-qualified" drivers.
These two were mixing up cylinders and leaving a lot of tire haze during their runs, DeJoria almost hitting the wall, close enough for the air from the car to kick up a lot of dust. Neither driver got into the field, so they will start over tomorrow.

Haddock smoked the tires about 100 feet out, with a small backfire that pushed the hood burst panel out. Burkhart's car made a hard move toward the wall about 300 feet out and he had to lift to stay off the concrete. Then the Safety Safari convoy went to work in Burkhart's lane.

Crawford was down a couple of cylinders immediately, but Arend's "Mooneyes" tribute car went right down the left lane and into the top half of the field.
That bumped Capps, putting Matt Hagan on the bump spot at 4.128.

Gray lost traction after a couple hundred feet, but Worsham rocketed straight down the right-lane groove and right to the top of the list.

Force's car popped the supercharger almost immediately, the "bugcatcher" sitting askew after the concussion. Meanwhile, Capps had a strong 0.898 60-foot time, then went up in smoke. That leaves Force safely in the field and Capps on the outside, where he will have to start over tomorrow.

Hagan is the last driver in line with a shot at bumping Tony Pedregon from the field.
Nice show for the spectators, Force went to #1 with ease, but Hagan got the win light and bumped Pedregon from the provisional field.
Now Gary Densham is on the bump spot at 4.118, but the last two cars in line are both already qualified.
