Left Lane: Josh Crawford Runs 4.441/256.94, Now #1
Right Lane: Grant Downing Runs 5.648/111.74, Now #2
2:31 p.m. Weather conditions: air temperature 83 degrees, relative humidity 18 percent, barometer 28.91 inches, adjusted altitude 3,010 feet, track temperature 106 degrees.
Crawford's car was pumping out a lot of unburned fuel, but he got to the
stripe under power. Downing spun the tires and lifted.
Left Lane: Jeff Diehl No Time, Now #4
Right Lane: Bob Bode Runs 5.544/133.00, Now #2
It looked like Diehl broke the throttle cable during the burnout, the car did not stage and went slowly down the track. Bode got staged okay, then lost traction at the green.
Left Lane: Phil Burkart Runs 4.462/266.53, Now #2
Right Lane: Terry Haddock Runs 4.575/203.71, Now #3
Haddock was on a good pass, but got out of the groove and then got very sideways. Burkart trailed almost all the way, then his car erupted in dense whits smoke at the finish line.
Left Lane: Gary Densham Runs 6.469/114.76, Now #7
Right Lane: Chad Head Runs 5.643/124.41, Now #5
Dueling tire smoke, Densham hazing them first.
Left Lane: Tony Pedregon Runs 5.419/132.56, Now #5
Right Lane: Jeff Arend Runs 4.161/277.03, Now #1
"Mooneyes" is back...Arend the driver this time. Nice guy, but he's no Kenji-San.
Looks like the car likes the yellow livery, it went right down the groove with our first 'teen of the session. Pedregon got out of the groove, then smoked the tires.

Both cars lost traction around the 660-foot marker.
Left Lane: Tim Wilkerson Runs 5.470/133.65, Now #9
Right Lane: Johnny Gray Runs 4.115/306.46, Now #1
No bump time yet because Diehl did not get a time.
Wilkerson lost traction and did a nice pedal job to regain traction and finish the run. Gray had no visible problems, went right down the groove and right to the top of the list.
Grant Downing is on the bump spot at 5.648.
Left Lane: Del Worsham Runs 4.186/293.98, Now #3
Right Lane: Cruz Pedregon Runs 4.940/155.74, Now #9
Pedregon lost traction as he passed the 660-foot merker. Worsham got almost to the stripe, then trailed a lot of smoke.
Left Lane: Ron Capps Runs 4.146/311.20, Now #3
Right Lane: Courtney Force Runs 4.115/314.97, Now #1
Finally, two "full pulls." Right down the groove and they slip into the top part of the field, Force matchiung Gray's ET with a faster speed.

Courtney Force's incremental times: 60ft-0.903 sec., 330ft-2.342, 660ft-3.332/263.26 mph.
Left Lane: Robert Hight Runs 4.096/314.09, Now #2
Right Lane: Jack Beckman Runs 4.077/309.20, Now #1
With crew chief Dickie Venables in the hospital and assistant Michael Knusen leading the crew for this race, Beckman stayed with the run all the way, even when the car decided to go toward the centerline on the top end, and went to the top of the list so far. Hight gave him a good race, slipped into the second spot.
Left Lane: Matt Hagan Runs 4.128/306.95, Now #6
Right Lane: John Force Runs 4.105/304.12, Now #3
Hagan also has an interim crew chief this weekend, Todd Okahura.
Force had a cyliner out almost all the way down the track, Hagan trailed Force most of the way.
After one session, Beckman leads at 4.077 and Terry Haddock is on the 12-car bump spot at 4.575.
