Boyer had a big engine explosion about 300 feet out, with flames from both
sides of the bike. Looked like he was okay.

Ruggiero smoked the tire and the engine went silent. Beauchemin launched and his engine also went silent.

Andras was leaning way over to stay in the groove and he shut off early. Gledhill made a full pass, came up a hundredth short of the bump time.

Gledhill matched Craig Pelrine's ET, but was 4 mph slower.
Scott slowed almost immediately. Pelrine looked like he had a chance, but was off the pace on the top end.

Cox's bike left a huge cloud of tire smoke on the launch and he lost a lot of time getting started. Turner made a nice, clean run and moved into the top half, pushing Cox into the bottom half of the field.
