LAS VEGAS - Results of round 1 eliminations in Funny Car at the NHRA Mello Yello Drag Racing Series, 13th annual NHRA Toyota Nationals:

11:26 a.m. Weather conditions: air temperature 77 degrees, relative humidity 24 percent, barometer 27.81 inches, adjusted altitude 4,058 feet, track temperature 94 degrees.

This is only the second race between Matt Hagan and Alexis DeJoria this year and she won the previous meeting in Sonoma.

hagan is in second place in the points behind John Force and really needs this win to keeps his championship hopes alive.

Hagan hits the throttle, gets about 20 feet and goes up in smoke. He gets about 100 feet out and has to give up on the run. DeJoria goes right down the groove with her quickest pass of the weekend to take the win.

Capps is 27 - 16 against Wilkerson in prior events. He holds a 3-2 edge this year.

Ron Capps has won this race 4 times.

Wilkerson had a hole out on the left side all the way through the run. He drifted to the left getting close to the centerline as he went through the lights.

Capps went right down the groove with a decent pass to take the win.

Capps will give up lane choice to DeJoria in the next round.

This is the second consecutive race where Courtney Force and her father, John, have qualified #1 & 2 in the field.Courtney has won 25 rounds so far this year equaling her total for her entire rookie season..Tony Pedregon has own this race twice.

Force is 1 - 0 against Pedregon in prior events.

Pedregon gets out of the gate first, stays in front to the sixty foot mark, then Force goes around him. Pedregon gets about 800 feet out, strikes the tires and backs off the throttle. Force goes right down Broadway with the quickest pass of the round so far to take the win.

Courtney Force's incremental margins (negative if behind): 60ft(-0.003), 330 ft(0.018), 660ft(0.063). MOV: 0.2192 seconds (approximately 76 feet).

This is the first time that John Force has qualified #1 at back-to-back races since the middle of the 2011 season. John has won this race twice and is coming in after setting the track record in qualifying. John is 22-4 against Gary Densham in first round races. Force is 37 - 10 against Densham in prior events.

Densham hits the throttle, gets about 200 feet out and goes up in smoke. Force went right down the groove with the quickest pass of the round so far to take the win.

Beckman is 11 - 4 against Tasca III in prior events, 2-1 this year.

Tasca comes off the line, gets about 200 feet out and strikes the tires. Beckman makes a clean pass and pulls away for the win.

Arend and Gray have each won 3 times against the other in prior events. Gray won the only meeting they have had this year.

Gray gets about 100 feet out and strikes the tires. Arend starts to pull away, gets about 300 feet out and loses traction. Both drivers pedal, Arend is able to recover quicker and pulls away for the win.

Arend will give up lane choice to Beckman in the next round.

This is the 3rd round one race this year between Cruz Pedregon and Robert Hight. Cruz won in Pomona and Robert won in Indy.

Hight is 17 - 11 against Pedregon in prior events.

hight gets out of the gate first and starts to pull away. Pedregon makes a clean, straight pass but was falling behind all the way through the run.

Hight makes his quickest run of the weekend but will give up lane choice to Courtney Force in the next round.

Worsham and Head have each won 1 times against the other in prior events.

Head gets out of the gate second, but had the lead at the sixty foot mark, then struck the tires and started to fall behind. Worsham drove around him at the 330 foot mark and pulled away for the win.

Del Worsham's incremental margins (negative if behind): 60ft(-0.020), 330 ft(0.008), 660ft(0.436). MOV: 1.1285 seconds (more than 100 feet).

Worsham will give up lane choice to John Force in the next round.
