LAS VEGAS - Results of round 1 eliminations in Top Fuel at the NHRA Mello Yello Drag Racing Series, 13th annual NHRA Toyota Nationals:

Weather conditions: air temperature 77 degrees, relative humidity 24 percent, barometer 27.81 inches, adjusted altitude 4,058 feet, track temperature 94 degrees.

Brown is 11 - 4 against Vandergriff in prior events. Bob Vandergriff is the defending event champion. Brown is out of the gate first and never trailed as Vandergriff is up in smoke as soon as he hit the throttle. Brown with his quickest pass of the weekend for the win.

Millican is 1 - 0 against Torrence in prior events. Torrence with the starting line advantage, but is up in smoke right off the starting line and has the car side ways before he clicks it off. Millican with his quickest pass of the weekend for the win.

Langdon is 9 - 1 against McMillen in prior events. Langdon is out of the gate first and never trailed as he runs the quickest pass of the event for the win. Langdon sets both ends of the track record. McMillen is up in smoke by 330 feet and clicks it off.

Torrence is 2 - 0 against Zizzo in prior events. Steve Torrence has not won a round in the Countdown. This is his best starting spot since the Sonoma race. This is T.J. Zizzo's 12th race of the season and that's the most for him in any single year. Torrence with a big starting line advantage and then drops a cylinder, but has the power to take the win.

Schumacher is 5 - 3 against alBalooshi in prior events. Tony Schumacher has won this race 4 times and he is the only dragster driver with more than one win at this event..This is the third time that Tony and Khalid alBalooshi have met each other in the first round and Khalid has won both of the previous races. Schumacher is out of the gate first and never trailed for the win by less than a car length. alBalooshi with his quickest pass of the weekend in the losing effort. Schumacher will give up lane choice to Brown in the next round.

Lucas is 15 - 12 against Grubnic in prior events. Grubnic doubled steps and turns on the red light. Lucas was on a good pass until around 800 feet when the pipes went wet. The word from the top end is that Lucas' car shredded the blower belt. Lucas will give up lane choice to Millican in the next round.

Kalitta is 21 - 18 against Bernstein in prior events. Kalitta is out of the gate first and then starts to haze the tires around half track. Bernstein with his quickest pass of the weekend for the win and he will have lane choice over Torrence in the next round.

Brittany Force is 0-4 against Spencer Massey and that is the most rounds she has lost to any driver in her rookie season..Spencer won this race in 2009 and needs to go deep into eliminations to keep his title hopes alive. Massey with the starting line advantage and then starts to haze the tires around 330 feet. force is just a few ticks off her qualifying time for the win. Now with Massey and Kalitta both losing in round one, Langdon can clinch the Championship by going to the final today.
